Step 1
Open the vehicle tailgate. Remove both taillight assemblies by
removing two Torx-15 head screws on each (A,B).
Step 2
Behind the taillight assemblies, locate the vehicle taillight wiring
harness connectors. The connectors will be similar to those
on the custom wiring harness. Separate the connectors from the
taillight housing taking care not to damage the locking tabs (C).
Step 3
On the both sides of the vehicle, in the taillight pocket, remove
two 10 mm nuts and carefully pull back on the rear quarter
panel to make an opening to route the connectors through (D).
Step 4
Partially remove rear wheel wells and mud guards by removing
plastic fasteners holding each in place (E). Carefully pull back
on the wheel well to gain access to pull wires down to the
bumper fascia level. On the passenger side, insert the custom
wiring harness end with green wire between the separated
connectors. Make sure the connectors are fully inserted with
locking tabs in place (F).
Step 5
From the passengers side taillight pocket, route the custom
wiring harness end with yellow wire down through the opening
made in steps 2 and 3 (G,H,I). From underneath the vehicle,
route both wires reward to the backside of the bumper fascia.
Route the 4-flat to the center of the vehicle. Route the yellow
wire to the driver side and up to the taillight.
Step 6
Locate a flat spot inside the vehicle, near the taillight. Adhere
the black converter box using the provided double-sided tape.
Step 7
Insert the custom wiring harness end with yellow wire between
the separated connectors. Make sure the connectors are fully
inserted with locking tabs in place.
Step 8
When in use, route the 4-flat to the center of the vehicle and out
of the trunk. When not in use, roll up and store in a convenient,
out of the way location inside the trunk. Secure any loose wires
with the provided cable ties.
Step 9
Reinstall all items removed during install. Install the
provided 4-flat dust cover to help prevent corrosion.
