Hooking up to the Trailer
Unlock the pintle by removing the safety pin.
Back the vehicle up until the lunette
eye taps the pintle's strike plate.
Lower the lunette eye into place. The primary
latching mechanism will engage automatically.
Secure with provided safety pin.
Cross the safety chains and hook them up
to the vehicle. Link the safety chains onto
the chain hangers to prevent them from
dragging on the ground during travel.
NOTICE
Hooks are not to be used as a
connection point for safety chains.
They are to be used only as chain support.
Unhooking the Trailer
Unhook the safety chains from the
hangers and vehicle and unlock the
pintle by removing the safety pin.
Flip the locking plate forward. Raise the
lunette eye until it clears the pintle hook.
Return the safety pin to locked position.
Mounting the Pintle Hook (pintle mount required, sold separately)
Insert the pintle mount shank into
the receiver hitch. Secure with a
5/8" hitch pin or lock (not included).
Begin securing the pintle hook to the pintle
mount using four 1/2" grade-8 bolts, washers
and nuts (not included). Do not fully tighten.
Adjust the pintle hook to the required towing
height. Tighten all bolts to 90 ft. lbs.
Note: Never exceed the rated capacity of
the vehicle or lowest rated towing component.
BEFORE EACH USE: Inspect the unit for proper
operation and worn, damaged or missing parts.
Replace parts as required or when the unit's
wear exceeds 1/8" from the original surface.
