Step 1
Open the vehicle hatch and remove both taillight
assemblies using a Phillips head screwdriver (A).

Remove the fasteners securing the rear scuff panel.
Remove the scuff panel by pulling out on the bottom and then
up (B). Take care not to damage the alignment tabs on the back.
Step 3
Remove the cargo net hooks and gently pull out the rear
trim panel taking care not to damage the alignment tabs (C,D).
Step 4
Starting on the passenger side, separate the top two taillight
connectors from the back of the taillight assembly (E). Insert
the custom wiring harness end with the green wire between the
top separated connectors and insert the harness end with the
brown wire between the middle separated connectors. Make
sure the connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs in place.
Step 5
Pull out the rubber grommet on both sides of the vehicle and
make a slit from the outside to the center of the grommet using a
utility knife (F,G).
Step 6
Route the custom wiring harness end with the yellow wire and
the 4-flat through the opening made by the removed grommet.
Route the harness end with the yellow wire out from under the
rear trim panel to the passenger side along the rear scuff panel.
Step 7
Reseat the grommet and use the provided sealant
to seal the cut in the grommet and around all the wires.
Step 8
Route the green wire under the rear trim panel and out through
the grommet opening on the passenger side. Repeat steps 2-7
on the driver side using the harness end with only the yellow
wire separating the top connector. Place the grommets back
into the openings with the wire placed through the slits.
Step 9
Locate a suitable grounding point near the connector such as
an existing screw with nut in the vehicle frame or drill a 3/32"
pilot hole for the provided screw. The area should be free of
rust, dirt and paint. Secure the white ground wire using the ring
terminal and provided screw.
WARNING: Check for miscellaneous items that may
be hidden behind or under any surface before drilling to avoid
damage and / or personal injury.
