Step 1
Note: Prior to installation, refer to the installation instructions included with your RV harness
With your RV harness routed to the front of the vehicle, determine the location you want the
6-way plug to mount. This can be mounted in the grill area, in the bumper cover or below the bumper.
Check the ground clearance of the wiring. Mounting this bracket low to the ground could
cause the wiring to contact the road or debris in the road. Keep away from hot areas and
moving objects such as radiators / oil coolers and fans (both electric and mounted on the engine).
Step 2
Use a suitable cutting tool to make an opening in the vehicle to accept the 6-way. You may need
to remove the bumper cover to make the cuts and install the harness and / or mounting kit.
Step 3
Using the connector socket mounting bracket, mount to the body of the vehicle (use short screws). Use the bracket
as a backing plate, (long screws used) sandwiching the bumper cover between the connector socket and bracket.
Step 4
Route the harness to the custom RV harness and connect the 4-flat.
Locate a suitable grounding point to attach the white ground wire. The area should be free of
rust, dirt and paint. Secure the white ground wire using the ring terminal and provided screw.
Step 5
The blunt-cut blue wire is the active trailer brake. This is used for hard-wiring braking systems
in your flat towed vehicle. Note: Check your state's DMV requirements on trailer brakes.
The black wire is the 12-volt power for attaching to a battery maintainer.
NOTICE
Once 12 volt power wire is connected to the harness verify that the harness is functioning
by attaching the battery and testing with a test light, 4-flat tester, or a functioning trailer.
Reinstall all items removed during install. If it was disconnected at the
beginning of the installation, reconnect the negative battery terminal.
Install the provided 4-flat dust cover to help prevent corrosion.
