BATTERIES
Currie Technologies® utilizes several types of batteries housed
in a variety of battery cases depending on the platform of hybrid
electric bicycle.
Enlightened - This series of hybrid electric bicycle will use
either NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) or Li-Ion (Lithium Ion) 24v
battery pack.
The battery pack is housed inside the down tube which is
accessible via a cap on the bottom of the down tube.
RMB (Rack Mounted Batteries) - This series of hybrid electric
bicycle will use SLA (Sealed Lead Acid) 24v battery packs.
Battery packs (dual) are mounted on both sides of the rear
rack. These battery packs are secured with a lock to prevent
unwanted removal while the bicycle is parked.
STB (Seat Tube Batteries) - This series of hybrid electric
bicycle will use SLA (Sealed Lead Acid) 24v or 36v battery
pack.
The battery pack is mounted behind the seat tube. This type
of battery pack may be secured with a lock or a spring loaded
retention pin depending on the platform of hybrid electric
bicycle.
BATTERY TERMINAL COVERS
Bicycles with Rack Mount Batteries have dual power switches
and are equipped with battery terminal cover(s) (see photo).
These protect the battery terminals from debris and water when
the terminal is not in use (i.e. when the battery(s) is removed
from the bike).
These battery terminal covers need to be removed in order for
the battery to make contact with terminals.
