WHEEL INSTALLATION
FRONT WHEEL INSTALLATION:
500DD, 750DD, 1000DD AND SCOOT-E 
DD SERIES SCOOTERS
If your scooter is equipped with a 
V-Brake you will need to disengage it 
prior to installing the front wheel.
Do so by squeezing both of the brake 
arms together and unhooking the 
brake noodle.
1.  Place the front wheel into the 
forks being sure the axle is fully 
seated into the dropouts.
2.  Install the safety washers into 
the dropouts. (Ref Photo A)
3.  Install the axle nuts. (Ref Photo 
B)
4.  Check to ensure the wheel is 
centered in the fork. (Ref Photo 
C)
5.  Tighten the axle nuts. (Ref 
Photo D)
6.  Reattach the V-Brake if your 
scooter was so equipped.
Proper braking 
performance is critical for safe 
riding. Currie Technologies® strongly 
recommends that the brake(s) be 
tested to ensure they are working 
properly.
Do not ride the 
scooter to check the brakes.

REAR WHEEL INSTALLATION
500DD, 750DD AND 1000DD SERIES SCOOTERS
The order of this installation is very important. 
1.  Align the RIGHT bearing cap holes with the threaded holes on the 
frame. Loosely secure with only 1 bolt at this time.
2.  Align the LEFT bearing cap holes with the threaded holes on the 
frame. Loosely secure with only 1 bolt at this time.
3.  Repeat steps 1 & 2 until all of the bearing cap mounting bolts are 
loosely installed.
4.  Align the torque arm mounting bracket with the threaded holes on the 
frame. Loosely secure with all 3 bolts at this time.
5.  Fully tighten both left and right bearing cap bolts and torque arm 
mounting bolts at this time.

Do not ride the scooter to check the brakes.
REAR WHEEL INSTALLATION
SCOOT-E DD SERIES SCOOTERS (REAR RIGHT WHEEL)
1.  Install the machine key into the groove on the axle.
2.  Line up the groove on the wheel with the machine key and install 
wheel onto rear axle being sure to point the valve to the outside.
3.  Secure with washer and nut.
SCOOT-E DD SERIES SCOOTERS (REAR LEFT WHEEL)
1.  Install wheel onto axle being sure to point the valve to the outside.
