Measure from the edge of the shoulder or from the curb, 16 inch's and 20 inch’s and mark the ground at those
two points. This is the area you want to dig between with a posthole digger. Dig hole 30 inches deep.
With the concrete sll wet, place your mail column onto the 4x4 post and slide it down the post and into the
concrete so that the column sinks into the concrete about an 1/16 inch. Clean and smooth any excess concrete
that may have overowed the form.

Let concrete dry overnight and remove cardboard form. Replace sod around concrete slab and you are nished.
Mix 2-bags of redi-mix concrete as per the manufactur-
ers instrucons and pour it evenly into the cardboard
form making sure to ll the enre form, then trowel the
top to a smooth surface.

Insert 4x4 into hole with one at edge of the post facing the road. While alternang a level on two sides of the
4x4, begin to pour in one bag of concrete around 4x4 holding it securely in place.
Place the cardboard form OPEN SIDE UP over the 4x4
post and slide it down to the leveled ground.

Once you have determined where the mail column will set, or if using an exisng post, remove sod or level ground
about 2 inches deep by 30 inches long by 20 inch’s wide equally around post (Save sod it for later) If you are using
an Exisng Post ,connue at number (5)

Tools and supplies needed: Shovel, trowel, post hole digger, level, 3-bags instant seng concrete, 4x4
post—54 inches long and address numbers.

EXISTING 4X4 INSTALLATION
If you have an exisng 4x4 installed, you may be able to use it, to install your new mail column. First,
Straighten the post. Then START AT NUMBER (1) then connue from number (5)

Place the post in the hole and measure from the ground to the top of the post. It should be no more that 24 inches
above the ground. If the top of the post does not fall in this range, remove the pole and dig deeper or refill the hole
as necessary to achieve this height.

On the side of the column glue your address numbers with silicone
or construcon type glue.
