Date: January 26, 2022 Subject: Hose Ring Installation Model(s): Riding Mowers
The instructions in this supplement sheet replace the instructions in the Installing
the Hose section of the Operator’s Manual.
Installing the Hose
1. Thread upper end of hose securely into upper chute support (Rear Bagger) or bag
vent (Leaf Collection System). There are two tabs on the lower inside part of the
upper chute support/bag vent to allow for secure threading. See Figure 1.

NOTE: Hose and upper chute support/bag vent are left-hand threaded. Thread
counter-clockwise until secure.
2. Install ring onto free end of hose by aligning start of hose ribbing with the ring
window next to a molded dot and threading counter-clockwise until secure. See
inset in Figure 2.

IMPORTANT! If ring will not thread onto hose, carefully trim any extra material
on the hose flush to the rib with scissors.

3. Lift hose by handles on the ring installed in Step 2. Slide hose over boot mounted
on the cutting deck, as shown in Figure 3.

4. Make sure the connection is secure and there are no gaps between hose and boot.
NOTE: If open, close bagger cover prior to mowing.
