3 Controls and Operation 260 Series 280 Series C G G A F F • Operate the string trimmer at a slower walking speed when trimming tall, thick weeds or grass. • Clean the underside of the trimmer after each use to remove any debris build up. WARNING: Shut the engine off and wait until the trimmer head comes to a complete stop before cleaning the discharge area. The trimmer head continues to rotate for a few seconds after the trimmer head control is released.
Service Maintenance 3. General Recommendations • Always observe safety rules when performing any maintenance. • The warranty on this string trimmer does not cover items that have been subjected to operator abuse or negligence. To receive full value from warranty, operator must maintain the string trimmer as instructed here. • Changing of engine-governed speed will void engine warranty. • All adjustments should be checked at least once each season.

Funcionamiento en pendiente Las pendientes son uno de los principales factores asociados a los accidentes por derrapes y caídas y pueden ocasionar lesiones graves. El funcionamiento en pendiente exige mayor precaución. Si no se siente seguro sobre una pendiente, no la recorte. Para su seguridad, use el indicador de pendientes que se adjunta a este manual para medir la pendiente antes de operar la máquina en una zona inclinada. Amortiguador de chispas ADVERTENCIA: Esta máquina está equipada con un motor de combustión interna y no debe ser utilizada en o cerca de un terreno agreste cubierto por bosque, malezas o hierba excepto que el sistema de escape del motor esté equipado con un amortiguador de chispas que cumpla con las leyes locales o estatales correspondientes (en caso de existir). 4 Sevicio Mantenimiento 3. Lubrique las ruedas con aceite ligero o aceite para motor al menos una vez por temporada. Si las ruedas se quitan por cualquier motivo, debe lubricar con aceite ligero la superficie del perno del eje y de la cara interna de la rueda. Consulte la Figura 4-1. Consulte el manual que acompaña al motor para ver el programa de lubricación del motor y sus instrucciones.
