Step3: AdjustHandlebarHeight
1. Loosenone of the lower handlebar
adjustmentknobs(K, Figure2-6) and give
the knob atapinward to freethe square
shaft onthe screw(N,Figure2-7) from
the keyedslot (0) inthe handlebarstrut.
Repeatthis stepfor the other side.
2. Movethe handlebarstrut up or down
to alignthe squareshaft (N, Figure2-7)
with oneof thethree squarekeyedslots
(0). The middleslot isthe medium
height setting.
3. Tightenthe handlebaradjustment
knobsverysecurely.
NOTE:Makesurethat the squareshaft
seatssquarelyinto the slot beforetight-
eningtheadjustmentknobs.
Step4: Add MotorOil to Engine
1. Movethe mowerto a levelarea.
2. Add motor oil accordingto the specifi-
cationsand instructionsprovided inthe
separateEngineOwner'sManual.
Keepoil levelat the FULLmarkon the
dipstickto avoidenginedamage.
Changeoil accordingto scheduleand
instructions in EngineOwner'sManual.

Step 5: Perform
Final AssemblyCheck
1. Checkall nuts, screws,and handlebar
adjustmentknobsfor tightness.
2. Besure to readSection1: Safety,
Section3: Featuresand Controlsand
Section4: Operationbeforeusing the
mower.

Step 6: Set UpMowingMode
Your mowercanbeset upfor anyof
three mowing modes. Thesemowing
modescanbagclippings,mulch
clippings,or dischargeclippingsout the
side. SeeSettingUpMowing Modesin
Section4 for detaileddescriptionsand
instructions onhow to set up eachmode.
NOTE:Themower is shippedin Mulching
Mode. This meansthat the Mulching
Plugis installedinto the dischargeoutlet
(Figure2-1) andthat the moweris ready
to mulchgrassclippings.
