Slope Operation Slopes are a major factor related to slip and fall accidents, which can result in severe injury. Operation on slopes requires extra caution. The machine is heavy and can speed up when going downhill. Be prepared to maintain control of the machine. If you feel uneasy on a slope, do not mow it. For your safety, use the slope gauge included as part of this manual to measure slopes before operating this machine on a sloped or hilly area. If the slope is greater than 15 degrees, do not mow it.

At the end of the Average Useful Life have the machine inspected annually by an authorized service dealer to ensure that all mechanical and safety systems are working properly and not worn excessively. Remove this page and fold along the dashed line. 2. Locate a vertical object on or behind the slope (e.g. a pole, building, fence, tree, etc.) 3. Align either side of the slope gauge with the object (See Figure 1 and Figure 2 ). 4. Adjust gauge up or down until the left corner touches the slope (See Figure 1 and Figure 2). 5.
2 Assembly & Set-Up Thank You Thank you for purchasing this product. It was carefully engineered to provide excellent performance when properly operated and maintained. Please read this entire manual prior to operating the equipment. It instructs you how to safely and easily set up, operate and maintain your machine. Please be sure that you, and any other persons who will operate the machine, carefully follow the recommended safety practices at all times.
3. Insert the top of the chute into the opening of the grass catcher support bracket. See Figure 2-11a. a Figure 2-5 b. Open the rear discharge door using the door handle. See Figure 2-6. Figure 2-8 To remove grass catcher, hold open rear discharge door on the mower. Lift grass catcher up and off of the slots in the support bracket. Release rear discharge door to allow it to close rear opening of mower. Attaching Grass Catcher Chute Handle 1.
Attaching Side Discharge Chute Your mower is shipped as a mulcher. To convert to side discharge, make sure grass catcher is off the unit and mower rear discharge door is closed. 1. On the side of the mower deck, lift the mulch plug. See Figure 2-13. Adjustments 2. Cutting Height (Standard Wheel) Reinsert axle bolt in the square hole desired through wheel assembly and secure with wing nut removed in Step 1. IMPORTANT: All wheels must be placed in the same relative position.

Electric Starter Push Key (If Equipped) The electric starter push key is located on the right side of the upper handle. It is both a removable key and push button and is only provided on electric start models. NOTE: Electric starter is equipped with an internal circuit breaker. If unit fails to start when starter button is depressed, wait one minute for breaker to reset, then attempt to start again. Recoil Start 1. NOTE: Removing the Electric Starter Push Key will not turn the engine off.
WARNING: The operation of any lawn mower can result in foreign objects being thrown into the eyes, which can damage your eyes severely. Always wear safety glasses while operating the mower, or while performing any adjustments or repairs on it. The following information will be helpful when operating your mower. WARNING! Plan your mowing pattern to avoid discharge of materials toward roads, sidewalks, bystanders and the like.
4 Service Maintenance WARNING! Before performing any maintenance or repairs, disengage blades, stop engine and remove key (if equipped) to prevent unintended starting. Front Caster Wheels (If Equipped) Each of the front wheel axles and casters is equipped with a grease fitting. See Figure 4-3. Lubricate with a No. 2 multi-purpose grease applied with a grease gun after every 25 hours of mower operation or once a season. Refer to the Engine Operator’s Manual for specific oil change intervals. 1.
4. After the oil has finished draining, screw the cap back onto the end of the oil drain hose. See Figure 4-5. turning when loosening the blade’s hex flange nut. Turn the water ON and start the engine as described in the Controls & Operation section.
7. Test the blades for balance by balancing the blade on a round shaft screwdriver to check. If out of balance, when sharpening, remove metal from the heavy side until it balances evenly. During sharpening the blade, follow the original angle of grind. Grind each cutting edge equally to keep the blade balanced. 3. Replace with new battery. Connect the positive lead (red) to the positive side of the battery pack, then connect the negative lead (black) to the negative side. See Figure 4-11.

Botón del arrancador eléctrico (si viene incluido) NOTA: El arrancador eléctrico está equipado con un disyuntor interno. Si la unidad no arranca cuando se oprime el botón del arrancador, espere un minuto para que se restablezca el disyuntor, luego intente hacerlo arrancar nuevamente. Uso de la cortadora de césped El botón del arrancador eléctrico se encuentra del lado derecho de la manija superior. Es una llave desmontable y un botón, y se proveen sólo en los modelos de arranque eléctrico.
ADVERTENCIA: Al hacer funcionar la cortadora de césped puede ser que arrojen objetos extraños a los ojos, lo cual puede dañarlos gravemente. Utilice siempre gafas de seguridad durante el funcionamiento de la cortadora o mientras hace ajustes o la repara. La siguiente información le resultará útil para operar la cortadora. ¡ADVERTENCIA! Planifique el patrón de corte, para evitar que la descarga de materiales se realice hacia los caminos, las aceras, los observadores, etc.
4 Servicio Mantenimiento ¡ADVERTENCIA! Antes de realizar cualquier mantenimiento o reparación, desconecte las cuchillas, apague el motor y retire la llave (si está equipada) para evitar el encendido accidental del motor. Recomendaciones generales • Respete siempre las reglas de seguridad al realizar tareas de mantenimiento. • La garantía de esta cortadora no cubre elementos que han estado sujetos al mal uso o la negligencia del operador.
4. Una vez que se haya terminado de drenar el aceite, enrosque la tapa nuevamente en el extremo de la manguera de drenaje de aceite. Vea la Figura 4-5. que la cuchilla gire cuando se afloje la tuerca de brida hexagonal de la cuchilla. Vea la Figura 4-7. 5 Figura 4-6 4. Abra el agua y ponga en marcha el motor como se describe en la sección Controles y Funcionamiento. 5.
7. Para comprobar el equilibrio de las cuchillas, se las debe equilibrar sobre un destornillador de eje redondo. Si no están equilibradas, al afilarlas, quite metal del lugar donde estén más cargadas hasta que queden uniformemente equilibradas. Cuando afile la cuchilla, siga el ángulo original de rectificado como guía. Afile cada borde de corte por igual para mantener el balance de la cuchilla. 3. Reemplace con una nueva batería.
