Kohler Engines Truck-Mounted Applications Grounding Instructions
There have been some reports regarding poor cranking performance on Kohler Engine-powered truck-mounted air
compressors.
ȱȱȱȱȱȱȱȱȱȱȱ¢ȱȱȱȱĴ¢ȱȱȱȱ¢ȱȱ
improperly grounded. Some installations are found to utilize the vȱĴ¢ǰȱȱȱȱȱĴ¢ȱȱȱȱ
compressor.

The following items are suggested. NOTE:ȱȱ¢ȱ¢ȱȱȱěȱǯ
Ĵ¢ȱDZȱȱŗŘȱȱĴ¢ȱȱȱȱȱȱȱŘŚŖȱȱȱȱǻǼȱȱȱĜȱ
for cranking most single cylinder engine models.
Ĵ¢ȱDZȱȱǛŚȱȱǛŜȱȱǰȱȱȱĴ¢ȱȱȱȱȱȱǰȱȱȱȱȱ
terminal to ground. Make sure that the remainder of the circuit from the negative terminal to the engine block is electrically
ǯȱ¢ǰȱȱȱȱȱȱȱȱ¢ȱȱȱĴ¢ȱȱȱȱȱǯȱȱȱ
the chart below for SAE size and length recommendations. Always use the shortest length of wire possible without stressing
the wire.
