Assemble the Upper Discharge Chute
1. Attach the rubber chute strap (723-04009A) from hardware
pack 689-00159 to the upper chute tube using a 710-0924
machine screw fed through from the inside of the chute
tube as shown in Fig. 4-17.
NOTE: Attach the end of the rubber chute strap utilizing
the hole closest to the end of the strap. Attach the chute
strap to the bottom hole of the chute when the chute tube
opening is towards the operator. See Fig. 4-17.
2. Secure the chute strap using a 712-3027 flange lock nut from
the same hardware pack.
3. Locate the self-adhesive foam strip included with the loose
parts. Install it onto the upper chute tube by pealing the
backing off of the strip and applying it to the upper chute
as shown in Fig. 4-18. The strip should be flush against the
flange on the upper chute tube as shown in Fig. 4-18.
Assembling The Discharge Chute Elbow
Locate the boot mount plate and chute elbow, packaged with
your loose parts in this carton. Attach the boot mount plate to
the chute elbow:
1. Insert five 710-0751 hex bolts from hardware pack 689-
00159 down through the boot mount plate and Chute
Elbow. See Fig. 4-15.
2. Secure with five 736-0270 bell washers and five 712-3027 flange
lock nuts from the same hardware pack.
3. Attach the 723-0476 rubber chute strap to the chute elbow by
inserting a 710-0751 hex head screw from hardware pack
689-00159, through the chute elbow from the inside, then
through the looped end of the chute strap, and secure with
a 736-3092 flat washer and 712-3027 flange lock nut. See Fig.
4-16.
NOTE: The hook on the chute strap will be facing down.
4. Install the 711-04069 grass catcher pin from hardware pack 689-
00159 into the chute elbow as pointed out in Fig. 4-16.
Secure on the inside of the chute elbow with a 712-0324 hex
lock nut.
