FEDERAL and/or CALIFORNIA EMISSION CONTROL WARRANTY STATEMENT
YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS
MTDConsumerGroupInc,the UnitedStatesEnvironmentalProtectionAgency(EPA),and, forthose productscertifiedfor sale in the stateof California,the
CaliforniaAir ResourcesBoard(CARB)are pleasedto explainthe emission(evaporativeand/orexhaust)controlsystem(ECS)warrantyonyouroutdoor2006
andlater smalloff-roadspark-ignitedengineandequipment(outdoorequipmentengine)In California,new outdoorequipmentenginesmustbedesigned,builtand
equippedto meetthe State'sstringentanti-smogstandards(inotherstates, 1997andlater modelyear equipmentmustbedesigned,built,and equippedto meet
theU.S. EPAsmalloff-road,sparkignitionengineregulations.MTDConsumerGroupIncmustwarrantthe ECSonyour outdoorequipmentenginefor the periodof
timelisted belowprovidedtherehasbeen no abuse,neglector impropermaintenanceof outdoorequipmentengine.
YourECSmayincludepartssuchas thecarburetor,fuel-injectionsystem,the ignitionsystem,catalyticconverter,fuel tanks,fuel lines,fuelcaps,valves,canisters,
filters,vaporhoses,clamps,connectors,andotherassociatedemission-relatedcomponents.
Wherea warrantableconditionexists,MTDConsumerGroupIncwill repairyouroutdoorequipmentengineat nocost toyouincludingdiagnosis,partsand labor.
MAN UFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE:
Thisemissioncontrolsystemis warrantedfor two years. If any emission-relatedpart onyour outdoorequipmentengineisdefective,the part will berepairedor
replacedby MTDCONSUMERGROUPINC.
OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Asthe outdoorequipmentengineowner,youare responsiblefor performanceof the requiredmaintenancelisted inyour owner'smanual.MTDConsumerGroup
Inc recommendsthat youretainallreceiptscoveringmaintenanceonyouroutdoorequipmentengine,butMTDConsumerGroupInc cannotdeny warrantysolely
forthe lackof receipts.
Asthe outdoorequipmentengineowner,youshouldhoweverbe awarethat MTDConsumerGroupIncmaydenyyou warrantycoverageifyour outdoorequipment
engineor a parthasfaileddue toabuse,neglect,or impropermaintenanceor unapprovedmodifications.
Youare responsiblefor presentingyouroutdoorequipmentengineto MTDConsumerGroupInc'sdistributioncenterorservicecenteras soon asthe problem
exists.Thewarrantyrepairsshouldbecompletedin a reasonableamountof time, notto exceed30 days.If youhavea questionregardingyour warrantycoverage,
youshouldcontactthe MTDConsumerGroupIncServiceDepartmentat 1-800-800-7310orvia emailat http://support.mtdproducts.com
GENERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY COVERAGE:
MTDConsumerGroupIncwarrantsto the ultimatepurchaserand eachsubsequentpurchaserthat theoutdoorequipmentengineis: Designed,built and equipped
so asto conformwithall applicableregulations;and freefromdefects in materialsand workmanshipthatcausethe failureof a warrantedpartto be identicalin all
materialrespectstothat part as describedin MTDConsumerGroupInc'sapplicationfor certification.
Thewarrantyperiodbeginsonthedate theoutdoorequipmentengineisdeliveredto anultimatepurchaserorfirst placedintoservice.The warrantyperiodistwo
years.
Subjecttocertainconditionsand exclusionsasstatedbelow,the warrantyonemission-relatedparts is asfollows:
1. Any warrantedpart that is notscheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenancein thewritten instructionssupplied,is warrantedforthe warrantyperiod
statedabove.Ifthe partfails duringthe periodof warrantycoverage,thepartwill berepairedor replacedbyMTDConsumerGroupIncaccordingto subsection
(4)below.Anysuchpart repairedor replacedunderwarrantywillbewarrantedfor the remainderof the period.
2. Any warrantedpart that is scheduledonly for regularinspectionin the writteninstructionssuppliedis warrantedforthe warrantyperiodstatedabove.Anysuch
partrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywill bewarrantedforthe remainingwarrantyperiod.
3. Any warrantedpart that is scheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenancein thewritten instructionssuppliedis warrantedfor the periodoftimebeforethe
firstscheduledreplacementdatefor that part.If the partfails beforethefirst scheduledreplacement,the partwill berepairedorreplacedby MTDConsumer
GroupIncaccordingto subsection(4)below.Any suchpart repairedor replacedunderwarrantywill bewarrantedfor the remainderof the periodpriorto the
firstscheduledreplacementpointfor thepart.
4. Repairor replacementof anywarrantedpart underthe warrantyprovisionshereinmustbeperformedat a warrantystationatno chargeto the owner.
5. Notwithstandingthe provisionsherein,warrantyservicesor repairswill beprovidedatallof our distributioncentersthatare franchisedto servicethe subject
enginesor equipment.
6. The outdoorequipmentengineownerwill notbe chargedfor diagnosticlaborthat isdirectlyassociatedwithdiagnosisof a defective,emission-relatedwar-
rantedpart, providedthat suchdiagnosticworkis performedat a warrantystation.
7. MTDConsumerGroupIncisliablefor damagesto otherengineor equipmentcomponentsproximatelycausedby a failureunderwarrantyof anywarranted
part.
8. Throughoutthe off-roadengineand equipmentwarrantyperiodstatedabove,MTDConsumerGroupInc will maintaina supplyof warrantedparts sufficientto
meetthe expecteddemandfor suchparts.
9. Any replacementpartmaybe usedinthe performanceof anywarrantymaintenanceor repairsand mustbeprovidedwithoutchargeto the owner.Suchusewill
notreducethe warrantyobligationsof MTDConsumerGroupInc.
10.Add-onor modifiedpartsthat are notexemptedbythe AirResourcesBoardmaynot beused.The useof any non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedparts by the
ultimatepurchaserwill begroundsfor disallowinga warrantyclaims.MTDConsumerGroup Incwill notbe liable to warrantfailuresof warrantedpartscaused
bythe useof a non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpart.
