Air Cleaner Service
CAUTION 1
Do not run the engine with the air cleaner
removed.
Foam Element
Clean the foam element (A) even/25 hours.
• Wash the element indetergent and water, and dry
it thoroughly.
A+ Foam Element
B, Paper Element
Paper Element
Clean the paper element (B) eve_ t00 hours,
• Clean the element by tapping gently to remove
dust. If very dirty,replace the element with a new
one,
• Replace with a new Dat0erelement vead_L.gr..2_
whichever comes first.
NOTE
o Operating in a dusty conditionmay require more
frequentmaintenance than above.
CAUTION
Do not wash paper element.
Do not oil paper or foam element.
Do not use pressurized air to clean paper el-
ement.
Fuel Filter and Fuel Pump Service
Improper use of solvents can result in fire or
an explosion,
Do not use gasoline or low flash-point sol-
vents to clean the fuel filter and/or the fuel
pump.
Clean only in a well ventilated area away from
sources of sparks or flame, including any ap-
pliancas with a pilot light. _...................;
• The fuel filter can not be disassembled, ifthe fuel
filter gets clogged, replace it with a new one.
• The fuel pumpcannot bedisassembled. If thefuel
pump fails, replace it with a new one.
Spark Plug Service
Hot engine components can cause severe
burns.
Stop engine and allow itto cool before check-
ing spark plugs.
Clean or replacethe sparkplugsand reset the gap
(A) every 100 hoursof operation.
• Disconnect the spark plug caps from the spark
plugsand remove the spark plugs.

• Clean the electrodes (B) by scraping or using a
wire brushto remove carbon deposits.
+ Inspectfor cracked porcelain,other wear or dam-
age. Replacethe sparkplugwith a new oneif nec-
essary.
• Check the spark plug gap and reset it if neces-
sary. The gap must be 0.75 mm (0.030 in). To
change the gap, bend on|ythe sideelectrode, us-
ing a spark plug tool.
= Installand tightenthe spark plugs to 22 N.m___.2
kgf.m, 16 ffo!b)_
• Fit the spark plug caps on the spark plugs se-
curely.
• Pull upthe spark plugcaps lightly tomake sureof
the installationofthe spark plug caps.
