If the machineis to be inoperativefor a periodlongerthan
30days,the followingproceduresare recommended:
WARNING:Neverstorethe machineor
fuelcontainerindoors wherethere is an
openflame, sparkor pilotlightsuchas
onwaterheater,furnace, clothesdryer
orothergasappliance.
IMPORTANT:Fuelleftin the fueltankduringwarm
weatherdeterioratesandwill causeseriousstarting
problems,
Topreventgumdepositsfromforminginsidethe
engine'scarburetorandcausingpossiblemalfunctionof
the engine,the fuelsystemmustbeeithercompletely
emptied,orthe gasolinemustbetreatedwitha stabilizer
to preventdeterioration,
1, If usingafuel stabilizer:
• Readtheproductmanufacturer'sinstructionsand
recommendations,
• Addto clean,freshgasolinethe correctamount
of stabizerfor thecapacityof thefuel system,
° Fill thefuel tankwithtreatedfueland runthe
enginefor 2-3minutesto get stabilizedfuel into
the carburetor.
2, If emptyingthefuel system:
• Donotdrainfuel whenthe engineis hot,Allow
the engineadequatetimeto cool, Drainfuelinto
anapprovedcontaineroutdoors,awayfromopen
flame,
• Drainanylargevolumeof fuelfromthe tankby
disconnectingthe fuel linefromthe in-linefuel
filternearthe engine,
° Reconnectthe fuellineand runthe engineuntil
it startsto falter,thenuse thechoketo keepthe
enginerunninguntilall fuel inthe carburetor
has beenexhausted,
• Againdisconnectthefuel lineanddrainany
remaininggasolinefromthe system,
,_ WARNING:Drainfuelonlyinto an
approvedcontaineroutdoors,away
from an open flame. Allowengineto
cool.Extinguishcigarettes,cigars,
pipes,andothersourcesof ignition
priortodrainingfuel.
Removethe sparkplugandpourone (1)ounceof
engineoilthroughthe sparkplugholeintothe cylinder,
Crankthe engineseveraltimesto distributetheoil,
Replacethe sparkplug,
Cleanand lubricatethe tractoras instructedin Section

manualbeforestoringfor anextendedperiod,
