Fuses •
• A 20ampfuseis installedin yourtractor'swiring
harnessto protectthe tractor'selectricalsystemfrom
damagecausedby excessiveamperage. •
• If the electricalsystemdoes notfunction,oryour
tractor'senginewill not crank,firstcheckto be
certainthatthe fusehas not blown, •
Thefusecan befoundinsideof the dash panel
behindthe batterytray. Youmayneedto removethe
batteryto gainaccessto the fuse.
A fiveamp fusecanalso befoundinsidethe dash
panel,Thisfuse is forthe 12voltpoweroutlet,
Alwaysusea fusewiththe sameamperagecapacity
for replacement.
Changing TransmissionDriveBelt
NOTE: Severalcomponentsmustbe removed,includ-
ingtransmissionsteeringlinkagewhichwill haveto be
readjusted,inorderto changethetractor'stransmission
drivebelt,ContactyourCubCadetdealerto haveyour
transmissiondrivebeltreplaced,
Hydrostatic Transmission
Keepthe areaaroundthe transmissioncoolingfan
freeof grassanddebrisat alltimes,The hydrostatic
transmissionis sealedat thefactoryandis maintenance
free,The fluid levelcannotbecheckedandcannotbe
changed,
Changing the Deck Belt
WARNING: Besureto shutthe engine
off, removeignition key,disconnect
the spark plug wire(s) to prevent
unintended starting before removing
thebelt(s).
WARNING:Avoidthepossibility of
a pinching injury. Donot place your
fingers on theidlerspringor between
thebeltanda pulleywhileremoving
thebelt.
Allbeltson yourtractoraresubjectto wearand should
be replacedif anysignsof weararepresent,
IMPORTANT:Do notuse substitutebelts.TheV-belt
foundonyourtractoris speciallydesignedfor optimal
performanceandservicelifefor yourdeckapplication.
UseonlyOEMoriginalreplacementbelts.
Tochangeor replacethedeckbelt onyour tractor,
proceedas follows:
• Removethedeckfrombeneaththe tractor(referto
CuttingDeckRemovalon page24)
Removethespindlecoversby removingthe self-tap-
pingscrewsthat fastenthemto the deck,See Figure
26.

idlerpulleysas shownin Figure27.

1. Loosenthe hex screwfasteningthe idlerpulley
to the idlerarmas necessaryto slidethe belt
frombetweenthe idlerpulleyandidlerarm,See
Figure26.

idlerarm,The backsideof the 'V' belt shouldbe
againstthe idlerpulley,Tightenthe hexscrewto
securethe idlerpulley,
3, Routethe deckbeltaroundthe spindlepulleys
andidlerpulleysas shownin Figure28,
Reinstallthe spindlecoversonthe deckusingthe
self-tappingscrews.Do not overtightenthe screws.
Reinstalling the Cutting Deck
Therearetwomethodsforreinstallingthe mowerdeckon
the tractor,Onemethodinvolvesrotatingthe deckidler
armto relieveenoughbelttensiontoallowthe belt to be
placedineitherthe PTOpulleyora deckpulley,Because
thatmethodis difficult,we recommendusingthe second
methodof rollingthe belt ontothe PTOpulley.
Installthe cuttingdeckas follows:
• Fromtherightside of the tractor,slidethedeck under
the tractorandalignthe readdeckhangerbracket
withthe deckliftarms.
Slidethedeckforwardandplacethe deckfront
hangerrodintothe slotsof the deckfront hanger
bracket.Then slidethe deckrearwardsothatthe
hangerrodis at the frontof the slots.
Usingthe decklift lever,lowerthe decklift arms.From
eithersideof the tractor,pullthe supportpin inthe
deckrearhangerbracketoutward,alignthe decklift
armholewiththe decksupportpinand releasethe pin
so thatit goesthroughthe deckliftarm.Repeatonthe
othersideof the tractorto securethe deck.
