Lubricatethedeck spindlewithCub Cadet251HEP
greaseafterevery10hoursof operation,
° The deckspindlelubefittingsareinthe spindlehous-
ings,andcan onlybe accessedfromthe undersideof
the deck, Usea pressuregreasegunto lubricatethe
spindles,
50" Deck ONLY- Lubricatethe deckidlerbracket
every10hoursof operation,The idlerbracketlube
fitting is in theshoulderboltthatsecuresthe bracket
to the deck,
Pivot Points & Linkage
Lubricateallthe pivotpointsonthe drive system,parking
brakeandlift linkageat leastoncea seasonwithlight oil,
Rear Wheels
The rearwheelsshouldberemovedfromthe axlesonce
a season,Lubricatethe axlesandthe rimswellwithan
all-purposegreasebeforere-installingthem,
Cleaning the Tractor and Deck
Any fuelor oil spilledon the machineshouldbewipedoff
promptly.DoNOTallowdebristo accumulatearoundthe
deckpulleysor anyotherpart of the machine,
Periodicallyremovethe beltcoversand removeany
accumulatedgrassclippingsfromaroundthe spindle
pulleysandthe deckbelt,
IMPORTANT:The use of a pressurewasherto cleanyour
tractoris NOTrecommended,It maycausedamageto
electricalcomponents,spindles,pulleys,bearingsorthe
engine,
Deck Wash System TM
Yourtractor'sdeckis equippedwithwaternozzleson its
surfaceas part of itsdeckwashsystem.
Usethe DeckWashSystemTM to rinsegrassclippings
fromthe deck'sundersideandpreventthe buildupof cor-
rosivechemicals,Completethe followingstepsAFTER
EACHMOWING:
1. Drivethetractorto a level,clearspotonyour lawn,
nearenoughto a watersillcock(spigot)foryour
gardenhoseto reach,
IMPORTANT:Makecertainthetractor'sdischargechuteis
directedAWAYfromyourhouse,garage,parkedcars,etc,
2, Disengagethe PTO(BladeEngage),setthe parking
brake,andstopthe engine,
3, Threadthe nozzleadapter(packagedwithyour
tractor'sOperator'sManual)ontothe endof your
gardenhose,
4. Pullbackthe lockcollarof the nozzleadapterand
pushthe adapterontothedeckwashnozzleat the left
endof the mowerdeck, Releasethe lockcollarto lock
the adapteron thenozzle,SeeFigure22,

Turnthe wateron.
Whilesittingin theoperator'spositiononthe tractor,
re-starttheengineandplacethethrottle leverin the
FAST(rabbit)position.
7. Movethe tractor'sPTO(BladeEngage)intothe
ON position.Remainin the operator's position
withthecutting deckengagedfor a minimumof two
minutes,allowingthe undersideof the cuttingdeck
to thoroughlyrinse.
8. Movethe tractor'sPTO(BladeEngage)intothe OFF
position.Turnthe ignitionkeyto the STOPposition
to turnthe tractor'sengineoff.
9. Pullbackthelockcollar ofthe nozzleadapterto
disconnectthe adapterfromthe nozzle.
10,Repeatthe previoussteps4 thru9 to cleanthe deck
usingthe nozzleat theother endof thedeck.
Tires
WARNING:Neverexceedthe maxi-
muminflationpressureshownonthe
sidewalloftire.
The recommendedoperatingtire pressureis:
° Approximately10psifor the reartires
° Approximately14psi for thefronttires
IMPORTANT:Referto the tire sidewallforexacttire
manufacturer'srecommendedormaximumpsi.Do not
overinflate.Uneventire pressurecould causethe cutting
deckto mowunevenly.
