• Installthe newoil filteronthe filteradapter.Hand
tightenuntilthe filtergasketcontactsthe adapter,then
tightenthe filteran additional3/4-1 turn.
• Refillthe enginewiththe propertypeoil. Theengine
oil capacityis approximately1.7-1.9quarts(1.6-1.8L).
Air Cleaner
Checkthe aircleanerbeforeeachuse.Checkfor a
buildupof dirt of debrisaroundthe air cleanersystem,

for looseor damagedcomponents,Replaceall bentor
damagedaircleanercomponents,
WARNING:Operating the engine with
loose or damaged air cleaner compo-
nents could allow unfiltered air into the
engine causing premature wear and

Servicing the Precleaner
Washand reoilthe precleanerevery25 hoursof
operation(moreoftenunderextremelydusty ordirty
conditions),Replacethe precleanerannuallyor every
100hours,
1. Openthe dooron the blowerhousingto accessthe air
cleanerelementand precleaner.
2. Unhookthe latchandremovethe precleanerfromthe
air filterelement,SeeFigure19.
NOTE: Theair filterelement/precleanerassemblycan
be removedandthe precleanerthen removedfromthe
filterelement,Makesurethe baseandthe sealingareais
clean beforereinstallingthe airfilterelement/precleaner
assembly,
3. Washthe precleanerinwarmwaterwithdetergent,
Rinsethe precleanerthoroughlyuntilall tracesof
detergentare eliminated.Squeezeout excesswater
(do notwring),Allowthe precleanerto air dry.

IMPORTANT:Makecertainthe latchis securedin the
lockedposition.Failureto properlyhookthe latchwill
allowunfilteredair intothe enginecausingdamageto
the engine.
7. Closethe accessdoor

Checkthe paperelementevery50hoursof operation
(moreoftenif operatedunderextremelydustyordirty
conditions).Cleanor replacethe elementas necessary.
Replacethe air cleanerelementannually,orevery100
hoursof operation.
* Openthe accessdoor,unhookthe latch,and remove
the airfilterassemblyas describedinthe previous
sub-section.
* Removethe precleanerfromthe filterelement.
* Gentlytap the paperelementto dislodgedirt. Do
notwashthe paperelementor usepressurizedair,
as thiswill damagetheelement.Replacea dirty,
bent,or damagedelement.Do notuse if the sealing
surfacesarebentor damaged.
* Cleantheair cleanerbaseandcheck itscondition.
° Reinstallthe precleaneroverthe paperair cleaner
elementand installon base.Securewiththe latch
andclosethe accessdoor.
