Choke Control
Thechokecontrolknobis locatedon the lowerleftsideof the dash
paneland is activatedbypullingoutward.Activatingthechoke
controlclosesthechokeplateonthe carburetorandaids instarting
theengine.
PTO (Blade Engage) Control
Switch
Toengagethe electricPTOand providepower
to the cuttingdeck,pulloutwardonthe PTO
controlswitchknob.Pushthe switchknob
inwardto disengagethe PTOandstopthe
cuttingdeck.
NOTE: ThePTOControlSwitchmustbein the
disengaged(OFF)positionwhen startingthe
engine.

Parking Brake Lever
NOTE: Theparkingbrakemustbeset if the
operatorleavesthe seatwiththe enginerunning;
otherwisetheenginewill automaticallyshutoff.
• Tosetthe parkingbrake,fullydepressthe brake
pedaland pushthe bottomof parkingbrake
leverinward. Seethe imageto the rightfor
parkingbrakeidentification.Holdthe leverin
whileremovingyourfootfromthe brakepedal.
Bothparkingbrakeleverand brakepedalwill
staydepressed.
• To releasethe parkingbrake,depressthe brakepedalslightly.
The parkingbrakeleverwill then returnto itsoriginalposition.
IMPORTANT:Alwayssetthe parkingbrakewhen leavingthe
tractorunattended.
Forward Control Pedal
Theforwardcontrolpedalis locatedonthe rightsideof thetractor,
at the frontof the rightrunningboard.Depressthe forwardcontrol
pedalto causethe tractorto travelinthe forwarddirection.The for-
wardgroundspeedof the tractoris directlyaffectedby the distance
the pedalis depressed.Thefurtherthepedalis depressed,the
fasterthetractorwill travel.The tractorwill slowandthe pedalwill
returnto itsoriginalpositionwhen released.
Reverse Control Pedal
The reversecontrolpedalis locatedin therightfrontrunningboard
rearwardof the forwardcontrolpedal.Depressthe reversecontrol
pedalto causethe tractorto travelin reverse.The furtherthe pedal
is depressed,the fasterthe tractorwill travel.Thetractorwill slow
andthe pedalwill returnto itsoriginalpositionwhen released.
Brake Pedal
The brakepedalis locatedat the frontof the leftrunningboardand
is usedfor quickstops,or settingthe parkingbrake.Thispedal
mustbe FULLYdepressedto activatethe safetyinterlockswitch
whenstartingthe tractor.
Deck Lift Lever
Thedecklift leveris locatedin the rightfenderandis usedto
changethe cuttingheightof the mowerdeck. Thecuttingheights
rangefrom 1-1/2"to 4". Eachof the six indexnotchesrepresentan
approximately1/2" adjustmentto the deckheight.To use,grasp
the lift leverhandleandpullslightlyupward(rearward)while pivot-
ingthe leverinwardandout of its indexnotch.Movethe liftleveras
necessaryto place inthe notchbestsuitedfor yourapplication.
Afterchangingthe cuttingheightof the deck,you mustcheck
the positionof thedeckfrontgaugewheels.Theyshouldbe
approximately1/2-inchabovethe groundwhenthetractoris ona
smooth,flat surfacesuchas a driveway.Referto "Maintenance&
Adjustments"laterinthis manual
Cup Holder
Thetractor'scupholderislocatedon thefendertotheleftof the
seat.
Seat Adjustment Lever
The seatadjustmentleveris onthe left sideof the seat. Use
thisleverto adjustthe seatforwardor rearwardto a comfortable
operatingposition.Seethe "Maintenance& Adjustments"section
laterin thismanualfor instructions.
Fuel Fill Cap and Fuel Level Window
Thefuel fill cap is locatedin thecenterof the rearfender.Pivotthe
seatforwardto fullyaccessthefuel fill cap andfill the fueltank.
Turnthe fill cap approximately1/4turn andpullupwardto remove.
Pushthe capdownwardonthe fuel tankfill neckandturn 1/4turn
clockwiseto tighten.
The levelof fuel in the fueltankcan beviewedthroughthe fuel
levelwindowinthe rearhitchplate.
Cargo Net
Convenientlylocatedonthe tractor'sdash panel,the cargonet can
be usedto storepersonalitemswhileoperatingthe lawntractor.
Hydro Transmission Bypass Rods
The hydrotransmissionbypassrodsarelocatedat the backof the
tractorabovethe rearhitchplate.Whenengaged,theselevers
opena hydropumpbypassvalveineach transmissionwhich
allowsthe tractorto bemanuallypushedshortdistances.See
the "Maintenance& Adjustments"sectionlater inthis manualfor
instructions.
