1. Introduction
The
PC LonTalk® Adapter (PCLTA) cards
are members of the Monitoring and
Control Network (MCN™) family of
User Interface Modules
. Hardware
specifications and configuration information are described in this manual.
MCN Remote Comparator Display systems can achieve higher performance for
their monitoring and control system by using a PC LonTalk Adapter (PCLTA)
card and appropriate drivers. The PCLTA-10 is a 16-bit card that plugs into an
ISA bus expansion slot of the PC. The PCLTA-20 and PCLTA-21 are 32-bit
cards that plug into a PCI bus expansion slot of the PC. Either card connects a
PC, running the MCN Remote Comparator Display software (MCNRCD) to the
MCN network. Only the PCLTA-21 is available as a current product. The
PCLTA cards are used with the MCNRCD software and Comparator I/O Modules
(such as CIB or AIB) to create a Comparator display system. The MCN
Comparator display provides monitoring and control functions for your
Comparator system.
Note: The PCLTA cards can only be used in applications with local MCN
networks and remote networks using MCN-EXB modules.
They cannot be used over standard modems for dial-up connections !
