4.1.7 Ethernet Trunk Configuration
4.1.7.1 Introduction
The trunk Ethernet refers to the 100Mbps trunk speed within the 155M fiber link reserved for the dedicated
Ethernet channel. The remaining link speed is utilized for the tributary card transmissions (E1, T1, V.35,
FXO/FXS), embedded operations channel, asynchronous RS-232 channel, order wire and proprietary
framing overhead. The trunk Ethernet terminates in each multiplexer at a 5-Port 10/100 Ethernet Switch
Controller. Three Ethernet LAN ports are available by RJ-45 connection on the front panel.
The following figure shows how the switch is incorporated into the multiplexer. The SNMP agent is
internally connected to the 5 port switch.
4.1.7.2 Configuration
From the main menu, arrow down or keyin '4' to select the Trunk Ethernet Parameters Configuration
menu item, then press [F2].
