Linking to the Database to Generate
Custom Queries and Reports
The following example and screens pertain to
using MS Access to link to the database.
1) In MS Access, open the File menu, and
select N
ew. Tip: From now on, I'll condense
menu selections (e.g., F
ile, New).
Double-click "Database".
2) In the next screen, give it a suitable name.
Then, click [Create].
3) Select: File, Get External Data, Link

4) You can ignore most of this screen.
At the very bottom, open the "Files of type"
field [], and select "ODBC Databases ()".
5) You can ignore most of this one, too:
Just select Machine Data Source at the
top, and click [ New ].
