a. When a person pushes the vestibule opener button then that shall
communicate with the interior auto opener and open that door. It shall also
communicate with the control board of the exterior auto opener.
b. The control board of the exterior auto opener shall communicate with the
access control system and instruct it to retract the latch on the exterior door.
c. The exterior control board shall wait a set number of seconds and then it shall
engage the exterior auto opener to open the exterior door.
N. Doorbell
1. Install doorbell at exterior door. Provide raceway and waterproof the installation.
2. Route a wire to the chime which is located as shown on the floorplans.
3. Install the chime to the ceiling of the area shown.
4. Contractor shall connect the chime to a power source in the room. Extend all power
required for connectivity.
O. Raceways.
1. Shall be mechanically attached to the wall or door.
2. Paint to match door frame/mullion.
3.04 INTERCOMS AT THE DOORS
A. Where shown on the drawings the Contractor shall install audio/video intercom interfaces.
This shall include interior and exterior units.
B. Exterior unit shall be either surface or flush mounted. See the drawings for the mounting type
required.
1. Surface mounted units shall be connected to the interior of the building with a conduit
and steel backbox.
2. The device shall be located at a place where it is accessible and where it can be
mounted to see the person calling.
3. Camera shall be positioned to cover the maximum area possible.
4. Install a connection cable from the exterior interface to the interior unit and door lock.
5. Install any baluns, adapters, or other devices required to send the signal from the
exterior interface.
C. The multi-door adapter shall interface between the AV intercom units at the doors.
1. The multi-door adapter shall allow the multiple doors to interface to one interior audio
intercom and a video monitor. It shall be configured to attach to each exterior device
and each master control device.
2. This will be required to be connected to the multiple doors that connect to the school.
3. This device shall be mounted in the main communications room.
D. Master stations shall be located at the school office.
1. The devices shall be configured to allow the Owner to unlock the door when a person
calls in and is determined to be acceptable for entry.
2. The master control devices shall interface with the access control system to interrupt
any alarms and momentarily unlock the door.
3. Configure they device to allow the user to determine which door the call is coming
from and then unlock only that door.
4. Provide all cabling and other equipment required to connect the master stations to the
access control system.
E. The multi-door audio intercom shall allow switching between doors and shall allow the owner
to release the locks on the exterior doors.
1. Configure the unit to interface with the access control system to allow opening of
doors.
2. Mount the audio/video intercom to the secretary’s desk.
3. The video monitor shall be connected to the cameras at the exterior doors.
4. Configure the monitor to allow control of the remote cameras at the doors
