2. The wiring shall allow integration of the working of the door locks, card readers and
the push to open buttons. The pus to open buttons shall be installed by others.
3. The work shall include wiring and integration at the doors and at the controller panel
to allow the Assisted Openers to work as required by the owner. See specs and
drawings
2.08 INTERCOM
A. Intercom (Audio/Video) at doors; ICon drawings
1. At locations shown on the drawings, the Contractor shall install audio/video (IC)
Intercom devices to allow visitors to contact the office to announce themselves and to
gain entry into the building.
a. Connectivity of the components shall be via manufacturer specified cables.
This shall be from the exterior interfaces, throughout the system and to the
master controllers and access control system inside the building.
2. Audio/video intercoms at the door shall have the following characteristics:
a. Exterior intercom shall be vandal-resistant.
b. Device shall have a single, 1-touch, push-button for calling into the interior
handset. This shall open up a 2-way communications path between devices.
c. Shall have a PTZ, color camera inside the intercom that is viewable at the
interior intercom unit.
d. Include the surface mount box for surface mounted locations. See drawing for
actual installation type.
e. Outdoor audio/video interface shall be Aiphone #JK-DV equipped with a mount
box, Aiphone #SBX-1G
3. There shall be an audio/video intercom station at the school office.
a. The audio/video intercom shall be connected to the exterior intercom.
b. The audio/video interior intercom shall also connect to the access control
system to allow momentary unlocking of a door when a button is pushed on
the intercom.
c. The audio portion of the station shall have a volume control.
d. The video portion of the station shall control camera view.
e. There shall be a door release button that interfaces with the access control
system and unlocks the door that is calling.
f. The interior audio/video intercom shall be Aiphone #JK-1MD plus power
supply. Power supply shall be Aiphone #PS-1820UL
4. Cabling for the audio/video interfaces at the doors and other components shall be
plenum rated.
a. Provide the type and quantity of cables required for connectivity. Review
manufacturer’s requirements and provide adequate cabling.
b. Install a wrap-around cable at each termination point of the interconnection
cables. The label shall detail which device the cable connects to.
c. Install cabling to allow the office device to release the lock on the door where
the exterior intercom is located.
2.09 RACEWAYS
A. Raceways in new doors shall be by the Electrical Contractor.
1. Meet with electrical contractor and door installer to coordinate installation of raceways
and the cabling.
B. Raceways to support access control devices at existing doors shall be by the security
contractor. See details for routing and extent of the devices.
1. Install metal backboxes where required for mounting of card readers.
2. Install metal backboxes on doors when transitioning from raceway to the frame of the
door.
3. Raceways shall be metal and shall be wiremold V700 or equal. Size as required.
a. All raceway shall be mechanically attached to the wall.
