14. Real Time Reporting of Devices, connected users and bandwidth usage
15. Wireless 802.11 phones will be in use throughout the district. The system shall
support and allow roaming between access points.
a. Phones shall connect to A/B or G radios.
16. The user shall authenticate to the network based on LDAP.
a. All users shall be able to authenticate based on their login.
b. The administrator shall be able to disconnect users or block those trying to
login by their MAC Address or login.
2.03 WIRELESS ACCESS POINTS
A. The Owner requires a new wireless data network that will attach to the wired data network in
the communications rooms throughout the district.
B. WAP’s shall be no less than Two-stream MIMO 2x2:2
C. The system shall consist of wireless access points (AP) that support:
1. 802.11a
2. 802.11b
3. 802.11g
4. 802.11n
5. 802.11ac
D. The wireless system shall not include access points where the owner is required to make
changes to each AP individually. Changes to the AP’s shall be able to be made globally from
one interface.
E. Each access point shall meet the following specifications.
1. IEEE 802.11a
2. IEEE 802.11b
3. IEEE 802.11g
4. IEEE 802.11n
5. IEEE 802.11ac
6. WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access), TKIP, AES (802.11i)
7. IETF CAPWAP
F. General specifications for the AP’s shall be:
1. Encryption: 40-bit WEP, 128-bit WEP, TKIP, AES
2. Multiple SSID/BSSID support
3. Transmit power control in 1 dB increments
4. Power-save mode supported
5. Supports up to 200 clients
6. Each shall be equipped with Dual Radios
7. Where the power required to run the Access Point is more than standard POE from
an Ethernet Switch the contractor shall provide power injectors and power strips for
use in the communications rooms.
8. Radio shall be 2x2 Streams
