2.02 ETHERNET SWITCH: CORE SWITCH
A. The Contractor shall install a core switch in the main communications room of the High
School
1. This shall connect to the existing connection to the ISD.
2. Shall be a Chassis based system with minimum of 6 slots for connectivity of
equipment.
B. The Contractor shall install core Ethernet switch for switching/routing signals between
the communications rooms, other buildings and the outside world.
C. The switch shall be capable of connecting to all electronics throughout the district as well
as the IP telephones, security cameras and wireless access points.
D. The Contractor shall provide the quantity of switches as per the detailed drawings. The
Contractor shall provide PoE ports for each copper Ethernet Port. All ports that are
provided with PoE power shall provide full 15.4 watts on each port. Provide power
supplies to support all PoE ports.
E. All Ethernet UTP ports shall auto-negotiate with the connected devices.
F. Core Switch shall be a Layer 3 switch equipped with 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet ports
and the Fiber optic connections for 10 gigabit connectivity as shown on the drawings.
G. The core switches shall be configurable via a management station, a web browser
interface or through direct connection to a PC.
F. The Ethernet Switch (with blades) shall minimally support the following:
