10. Contractor shall set up a time to review the installation with the Owner and Engineer.
During the review, the Contractor shall demonstrate that each display works and is
installed safely and securely.
C. Projectors
1. Install projector to the mount.
2. Locate the projector so it fully fills the projection screen. Coordinate location with
other trades and equipment in the ceiling.
3. Coordinate power to the projector so it is in the same ceiling tile.
4. Fully connect all inputs and outputs to the projector.
5. Set image after installation so the image is clear and centered on the screen.
6. Set all settings for maximum clarity and image brightness.
7. Test that projector works with all inputs and outputs.
D. Switcher shall be mounted in the rack and shall be at a height at which a user can
comfortably interface.
1. The Contractor shall make sure that all cables attaching to the switcher are labeled
with the item from which they route. The Contractor shall provide and install a
permanent label for each of the buttons on the front of the switcher to show which
input is connected to which button.
2. The switcher shall be fully connected and interfaced with each input and output
device. All connections shall be made, and tested prior to turnover to the Owner.
3. The switcher shall be fully integrated with the wireless control system. All functions
shall be available through the control system.
4. All settings on the switcher shall be set to provide the highest quality video and audio
output.
5. The Contractor shall test each input and each output for proper configuration. The
testing shall be done while controlling the switcher locally as well as through the
wireless control system. All aspects of the systems shall be tested prior to turnover to
the Owner.
E. Coordination with other Trades:
1. The Contractor shall meet with the Electrical Contractor prior to installation of the
security conduits and boxes to ensure that the boxes to be installed by the Electrical
Contractor meet the requirements of the security camera system.
2. Coordinate power requirements in the communications room with other trades that
will be installing equipment in the communications room.
3. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to install additional pass-thru’s if required for
the installation of their work. Fire-stop each pass-thru according to code
requirements.
F. UTP audio and video transmitters and receivers.
1. The UTP devices shall be used to transmit the signals for the various displays.
2. The cables between devices are existing the contractor shall coordinate the
connection of these cables with the other contractors.
3. The transmitter shall be connected to the signage PC that the owner will provide. The
contractor shall make all audio and video connections.
4. At each display the contractor shall configure the receiver to compensate for any
skew of the signal.
5. Connect the audio and video outputs of the receivers to the video displays.
6. The receiving units shall be connected in a daisy-chain fashion from device to device.
G. Projection screen
1. Coordinate provision of manual screens with locations of other wall and ceiling
mounted components such as visual display boards, Acoustical Ceiling, Structural
framing, light fixtures, air diffusers, ducts, and fire sprinklers to eliminate potential
conflicts.
2. Coordinate installation of mounted screens with construction of suspended acoustical
panel ceilings.
3. Install screens in accordance with approved shop drawings and manufacturer's
installation instructions.
