Once again, Henry Kloss has created a radio
for the ages — this time a stereo AM/FM
radio in a tasteful two-piece design! Avoiding
the flashy displays of modern consumer
electronics, the Model Two is a throwback in
appearance only. The state-of-the-art tuner
and amplifier take advantage of some of the
same cutting-edge technology that gives the
Model One its clear sound, like the 5:1 ratio
analog tuning dial and discrete-component
FM tuner (see above). And with a separate
cabinet providing the stereo punch, the Model Two delivers

Henry Kloss was one of the most impor-
tant inventors in the history of home
audio. In fact, his revolutionary speaker
designs of the 1950s changed the indus-
try forever. Henry Kloss’s
final project before his
death in 2002 was the
Model Series from Tivoli
Audio. The Model One
table radio calls to mind
the great-sounding, beauti-
fully designed radios of the
past. The small wood cabinet
offers a classic look, and the
3-inch speaker handles highs, mids, and lows with amazing ease. It’s mono
— rather than cram two tiny, low-fidelity speakers into one small enclosure,
Kloss preferred to provide warm, rich sound from a single, high-quality
speaker. Using advanced technology found in cellular phones, the discrete-
component FM tuner does an incredible job reeling in distant signals. And
the large analog tuning dial is geared down to a 5:1 ratio, so turning the
knob results in smaller, more precise movements of the tuning mechanism.

player handles CDs and audio CD-Rs, and

The handsome, minimalist front panel with
easy-to-read display provides hassle-free control of the player … or you
can command all the action from the included remote. Note: this CD player
is not
a stand-alone system with built-in speakers. You must connect it to an amplifier
