A stand-alone unit with a built-in electronics package, the low-
profile MB-3 mounts easily into tabletops, walls or ceilings. It
uses a standard male 3-pin XLR-type output and comes with a
locking security ring.
Element Type: Electret Condenser
Frequency Response: 50 Hz to 15 kHz
Polar Pattern: Half-Supercardioid
Impedance: 150 ohms
Sensitivity: 22 mV/Pa
MB-4, MB-4E
MB-4: Cable installs through table;
Self-contained
MB-4E: Cable installs through table;
Requires MB-100 or MB-200 Interface
The MB-4 is a mini rectangular microphone designed for stand-
alone use and comes with a 15-ft. cable. All required electron-
ics are contained within the male 3-pin XLR-type output. The
cable may be positioned to exit either the bottom or rear of the
microphone.
The MB-4E is a pigtail version of the MB-4. Its cable fits
through a small hole in the mounting surface and is intended
for use with the MB Interfaces.
Element Type: Electret Condenser
Frequency Response: 50 Hz to 15 kHz
Polar Pattern: Half-Supercardioid
Impedance: 150 ohms
Sensitivity: 22 mV/Pa
MIC TIPS
Conference Miking with MB
and PCC Microphones
An effective way to mike a conference table
is to install one microphone between every
two people at arm’s length away.
Run all the mics into an automatic mic
mixer. This device turns off mics that are
not in use, which results in a much clearer
sound.
Some participants might prefer to be miked
with lectern microphones, such as the
Crown LM-201, LM-300A, LM-300AL, or
LM-301A. These microphones can be found
in the Section Inst alled Sound - S tage and
Pulpit.

MB-100, MB-200 Interfaces
MB-100: For use with MB-1, MB-2, MB-4E
MB-200: MB-100 plus Remote Switch Sensing Via
Optical Coupler
Designed to accommodate up to four microphones, the
MB-100 Interface is a low-profile electronics package
easily mounted beneath a table-top. It works with MB-1,
MB-2, and MB-4E microphones and provides four inputs, four outputs and four remote switch
inputs. Each switch input can be programmed for either push-on/off, momentary on, or
momentary off operation. In the off position, the MB interfaces provide 70 dB attenuation at
the microphone output, ensuring absolute quiet even when multiple microphones are in use.
With the same features as the MB-100, the MB-200 also provides four external switch clo-
sures via optical couplers. Both interfaces require external 18-48 volt phantom power.
