Specifications
The following applies to units in Stereo mode with 8-ohm loads and rated input sensitivity
unless otherwise specified.
Performance
Frequency Response (at 1 watt) 20 Hz to 20 kHz: ±0.1 dB.
Phase Response (at 1 watt, 20 Hz to 20 kHz): ±10 degrees.
Signal-to-Noise Ratio (below rated full bandwidth power), A-weighted:
> 105 dB.
Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) (at rated power), 20 Hz to 20 kHz:
0.1%.
Intermodulation Distortion (IMD) (60 Hz and 7 kHz at 4:1),from 163
milliwatts to full bandwidth power): < 0.05%.
Damping Factor (8 ohm) 10 Hz to 400 Hz: >1000.
Voltage Gain (at maximum level setting, ±0.5 dB):
MT-600: 35-dB gain at 0.775-volt sensitivity; 30-dB gain at 1.4-volt
sensitivity; 26-dB gain at 26-dB sensitivity.
MT-1200: 36-dB gain at 0.775-volt sensitivity; 31-dB gain at 1.4-volt
sensitivity; 26-dB gain at 26-dB sensitivity.
MT-2400: 38-dB gain at 0.775-volt sensitivity; 33-dB gain at 1.4-volt
sensitivity; 26-dB gain at 26-dB sensitivity.
Crosstalk (below rated power, 20 Hz to 20 kHz): > 61 dB.
Common Mode Rejection (CMR)(20 Hz to 1 kHz): > 70 dB.
Power
Load Impedance: Safe with all types of loads. Rated for 2 to 16 ohms in
Stereo mode; 4 to 16 ohms in Bridge-Mono mode; 1 to 4 ohms in
Parallel-Mono mode.
Required AC Mains (±10%, –15%): 50/60 Hz; 100-, 120-, and 230- VAC
(±10%) units are available. 230 VAC, 50/60 Hz units can be used with
220 and 240 VAC.
Power Draw at Idle: 90 watts.
DC Output Offset (Shorted input): ±10 mV.
Controls
Power Switch: Front panel rocker switch used to turn the amplifier on
and off.
Level: Back-panel rotary level control, one for each channel.
Ground Lift Switch: This switch isolates or “lifts” the phone jack signal
grounds from the AC power ground. Activating the switch inserts an
impedance between the sleeve of each phone jack and the unit’s AC
ground to help prevent the hum that can result from a ground loop.
Input Sensitivity Switch: A three-position switch located inside the
amplifier behind the MT-XLR module.
Stereo/Mono: A three-position back-panel switch used to select Stereo,
Bridge-Mono or Parallel-Mono mode.
Reset Switches (Micro-Tech 2400 only): Two back-panel switches used
to resent the breakers that safeguard each power supply from
overload.
Indicators
(all located on front panel)
Enable: A green front-panel LED that indicates amplifier has been turned
on and AC power is available.
ODEP: An amber front panel LED for each channel that shows thermal-
dynamic energy reserve. Normally, each ODEP indicator is lit to
show available reserve energy. In the rare event that a channel has
no reserve, its indicator will dim in proportion to ODEP limiting.
Input/Output
Input Connectors: One balanced 3-pin female XLR connector for each
channel in parallel with one balanced 1/4-inch phone jack input for
each channel.
Input Impedance: (nominally balanced, nominally unbalanced): 20 k
ohms, 10 k ohms.
Output Connectors: A pair of versatile 5-way binding posts is provided
for the output of each channel. The 5-way binding posts accept
banana plugs, spade lugs or bare wire. (European models do not
accept banana plugs).
Protection
Micro-Tech amplifiers are protected against shorted, open or mismatched
loads; overloaded power supplies; excessive temperature, chain destruction
phenomena, input overload damage and high-frequency blowups. They also
protect loudspeakers from input/output DC and turn-on/turn-off transients.
Construction
Cooling: Flow-through ventilation from front to side panels. Internal heat
sinks with forced-air cooling.
Dimensions: EIA Standard 19-inch (48.3-cm) rack mount width (EIA RS-310-
B), 3.5-inch (8.9-cm) height and 16-inch (40.6-cm) depth behind the
mounting surface.

Able to drive low-impedance loads with ease, Micro-Tech
®
ampli-
fiers feature three separate power supplies for exceptional relia-
bility and impressive power ratings. Our patented ODEP circuitry
keeps the amplifier working long after others would quit.
Grounded Bridge circuitry doubles the output voltage without
placing output transistors in stressful configurations like conven-
tional amplifiers. The unique forced-air cooling system dissipates
heat quickly and evenly. As a result, you get maximum perform-
ance without the threat of damage to the amplifier or other system
components.
Accessories: Cooling fan option, MT-BB barrier-block input module,
MT-XLR input module.
