The CP660 is a six-channel amplifier that will give you super flex-
ibility and the best watts-to-dollar ratio around. With six independ-
ent channels, the CP660 takes the place of three, two-channel
amplifiers, yet still fits in a standard two-rack-space chassis. It’s
ideal for a variety of surround-sound uses, as well as many pag-
ing, zoning, and background music applications. Plus, when you
need it, you can easily bridge any pair of channels for double the
power.
Specifications
Note: All measurements are related to 120VAC units 60 Hz in stereo mode with 8-ohm loads at
1-kHz at rated power unless other otherwise specified. Specifications for units supplied out-
side the U.S.A. may vary slightly at different AC voltages and frequencies.
Power
Load Impedance: Safe with all types of loads. Rated for 4 and 8 ohms in
Dual mode, 8 ohms in Bridge mode
Required AC Mains: North American units are 120VAC, 60-Hz only; 100
and 240VAC (±10%) 50-Hz units are available.
AC Line Current (no signal):
100 Volts: 7.8 A
120 Volts: 6.5 A
240 Volts: 3.3 A.
AC Line Connector: NEMA 5-15P (15A) on North American units.
Performance
Frequency Response (at 1 watt) 20 Hz to 20 kHz: +0/-1 dB.
Phase Response: ±15 degrees from 20 Hz to 10 kHz @ 1 watt.
Signal-to-Noise, A-weighted, below rated power: Better than 100 dB.
Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) at 1 kHz rated power: < 0.3% true THD.
Intermodulation Distortion (IMD): (60 Hz and 7 kHz @ 4:1) from rated
power to 35 dB below rated power at 8 ohms: <0.25%.
Damping Factor: Greater than 250 from 20 to 400 Hz.
Input/Output
Input Connectors: Balanced three-terminal barrier block connectors.
Output Connectors: One set of 5-way, color-coded binding posts for each
channel. The output connectors can accommodate banana plugs, dou-
ble banana plugs, or wire as large as 10 gauge.
Input Sensitivity: 0.7 volt for rated output.
Input Impedance: 20 k ohms, balanced; 10 k ohms unbalanced.
DC Output Offset: Less than ±50 millivolts.
Protection
The CP660 amplifier is protected against shorted, open or mis-
matched loads; over-loaded power supplies; excessive temperature;
chain destruction phenomena; input overload damage; and high-fre-
quency blow-ups. It also protects loudspeakers from input/output DC,
large or dangerous DC offsets and turn-on/turn-off transients.
Mechanical
Controls: Front panel rocker switch for power on/off; back panel Level
control for each channel; three back panel two-position Dual/Mono
switches (Ch. 1&2, Ch. 3&4, Ch. 5&6).
Indicators: (All located on front panel) green Signal LED for each channel;
yellow Clip LED for each channel; red Temp LED; green Power LED.
Cooling: Internal heat exchangers with on-demand forced air cooling.
Dimensions: EIA Standard 19-inch rack mount width (EIA RS-310-B),
3.5-inch (8.9-cm) height and 12.75-inch (32.3-cm) depth behind front
mounting surface. Center of gravity is 6 inches (15.2 cm) behind the
front mounting surface and 7 inches (17.8 cm) in from the outer edge
of the left rack ear.
