Equipment overview: Rear panel
1. External DC power socket: used with approved GE AC-DC power converter
only. Refer to “Parts lists and drawingson page 6-1 for the part number of
the approved power supply.
Rear panel
2. Host communication port (15 pin D-type) for use only with equipment
conforming to IEC 60601-1 or configured to comply with IEC 60601-1-1. The
Exergen scanner connects to this port.

15.
Attach one accessory to this port.
3. Printer door.
Host communication port
The host communication port is used to interface the CARESCAPE V100 vital
signs monitor with other electronic devices (a central nurse's station or remote
alarm device), or with the Exergen scanner. For further information, reference
the Host Communication manual.
CARESCAPE V100 vital signs monitor connectivity options
The following connectivity options are available for use with the CARESCAPE
V100 vital signs monitor and can be purchased from GE:
DINALINK™ adapter: The DINALINK adapter is an accessory that connects
the CARESCAPE V100 vital signs monitor to the ApexPro telemetry system,
enabling vital signs to be transmitted to and displayed on a Central Station.
Direct Connection: Isolated adapter cables are used to connect the
CARESCAPE V100 vital signs monitor to general purpose devices, such as a
PC.
DINAWIN Application Programming Interface (API) software: The DINAWIN
API is a software library that can be installed on a PC to facilitate the
