TPMC-15/17-L Series Touchpanel Media Centers
TPMC-CH-IMC Interface Module (CH Versions Only)
For networks without CAT5 audio and video, the TPMC-CH-IMC (included with
CH series) is available to convert unbalanced video sent over coax cable and
balanced/unbalanced audio sent over shielded, twisted-pair wiring to Crestron
Certified Wire for connection to the touchpanels.
NOTE: When using a TPMC-CH-IMC to provide video and audio to the
touchpanel, any source that is to use the second input will only be able to send video
to the touchpanel as the audio port will be connected to the audio output of the
TPMC-CH-IMC. To maximize the usability of the touchpanel’s A/V ports, Crestron
recommends connecting the touchpanel’s video inputs to the CAT5 outputs of a
CNX-PVID8x4 (or similar device) and the audio port to a CAT5 port of a
CNX-BIPAD8 (or similar device). Contact Crestron’s True Blue Support for a
solution that is specific to your system.
Use Crestron’s CresCAT-D cable when running audio and video connections from
the TPMC-CH-IMC to the touchpanel.
For more information on the TPMC-CH-IMC, refer to the latest version of the
TPMC-CH-IMC Interface Module Operations Guide (Doc. 6345).
QM-TX QuickMedia Transmitter (QM Versions Only)
The QM-TX QuickMedia Transmitter (sold separately) can be used to connect an
RGB, video or audio source to a QuickMedia network without a locally available
QM transmitter (such as the QM-WMC).
The QM-TX accepts composite video, S-video, component video, RGBHV and
audio signals. These signals are converted to the QuickMedia standard and fed over a
CAT5E or CAT6 cable to a QM receiver (such as the TPMC-15/17-QM-L). All
signal routing occurs automatically under the command of the control system.
For more information, refer to the latest version of the QuickMedia Transmitter:
QM-TX Operations Guide (Doc. 6334).
Recommended Cleaning
Keep the surface of the touchscreen free of dirt, dust or other materials that could
degrade optical properties. Long-term contact with abrasive materials can scratch the
surface, which may have a detrimental effect on image quality.
For best cleaning results use a clean, damp, non-abrasive cloth with any
commercially available non-ammonia glass cleaner. Bezels may not provide a
complete watertight seal. Therefore, apply cleaning solution to the cloth rather than
the surface of the touchscreen. Wipe touchscreen clean and avoid getting moisture
beneath the bezels.
