Media Presentation Controller™ M5 Crestron MPC-M5 MPC Media Presentation Controller™ M5: MPC-M5 Introduction Creston® MPC Media Presentation Controller™ is a family of 2-Series control systems designed for installation in a wall or podium, delivering the industry’s best multimedia room control technology in a convenient, space saving design.
Media Presentation Controller™ M5 Crestron MPC-M5 Control…Simplified The MPC-M5 is engineered to be easy to integrate and use, yet versatile enough to suit each application perfectly. Its ten “hard key” buttons can be freely programmed for system power, input source selection, transport control, volume adjustment, lighting presets and any other functions. Custom backlit labeling of the buttons is facilitated using an assortment of pre-printed labels or Crestron Engraver software.

Provide sufficient power to the system. CAUTION: Insufficient power can lead to unpredictable results or damage to the equipment. Please use the Crestron Power Calculator to help calculate how much power is needed for the system (www.crestron.com/calculators).

Refer to “Network Wiring” on page 10 before attaching the LAN PoE connector. Apply power after all connections have been made. However, before attempting to upload or upgrade it is necessary to establish communication. Once communication has been established, files (for example, programs or firmware) can be transferred to the control system (and/or device).

Establish USB communication between MPC-M5 and PC. 2. Enter the IP address, IP mask and default router of the MPC-M5 via the Crestron Toolbox (Functions | Ethernet Addressing); otherwise enable DHCP.

Firmware upgrades are available from the Crestron Web site as new features are developed after product releases. One has the option to upload programs via the programming software or to upload and upgrade via the Crestron Toolbox.
Media Presentation Controller™ M5 Crestron MPC-M5 Problem Solving Troubleshooting The following table provides corrective action for possible trouble situations. If further assistance is required, please contact a Crestron customer service representative. MPC-M5 Troubleshooting TROUBLE POSSIBLE CAUSE(S) CORRECTIVE ACTION Unexpected response from control system. Network devices are not communicating with the control system. Use Crestron Toolbox to poll the network.
Media Presentation Controller™ M5 Crestron MPC-M5 System Monitor The System Monitor allows you to reload firmware into the MPC-M5 in the event that you cannot load the firmware in the normal mode. If the system does not function, perform the following procedure: 1. Disconnect all Crestron USB devices from the computer. 2. On the MPC-M5, press and release the HW-R button. 3. Press and release the SW-R button three times. 4. Connect to the PC using a USB cable.
