Diagnostic Utilities
The Configuration menu of the Real-Time Engine application window
includes two options for debugging, Watch Signals and Configuration.
Watch Signals
The Watch Signals window displays information about all the signals that
the Real-Time Engine receives and transmits. As stated previously, all
signals are defined as either input to the Scheduler or output from the
Scheduler, and this is specified in the I/O field. The IO Type field gives the
type of signal—digital, analog or serial. The Value field gives the value that
was sent. Command Type lists the type of target location for the command.
This should match the Which CNX field that displays the CNX Interface.
Handle lists the CNX Gateway connection handle. The Watch Signals
window also gives the join number and description of all commands.
NOTE: The “Watch Signals” window should only be used for debugging,
since the system slows down dramatically when this window is open.
