Use of Ping or Telnet to Verify Communication
Ping <ip_addr> Tests communication between PC
and CNMSX’s IP Address
Telnet <ip_addr> 41794 Telnets into CNX Gateway and
establishes a connection.
The connections can be seen in
the CNX Gateway dialog.
Leaving Telnet breaks the
connection.
Use of Viewport
SIMPL Windows contains a tool called Viewport that can communicate with a
CNMSX and set its IP Address, as well as perform other maintenance chores and
status checks that could be used for diagnostic purposes. To obtain more information
about Viewport, access the help file (HELP | HELP TOPICS while running SIMPL
Windows) and use the index to search on “viewport”.
