CRESTRON-APP-SSTV Control App for Samsung Smart TV Control App for Samsung Smart TV: CRESTRON-APP-SSTV Introduction The Crestron® app for Samsung Smart TV® enables various devices and preferences to be configured and controlled in a home or business via the TV's on-screen menu. The app can be customized to manage AV devices, lighting preferences, shade settings, climate controls, and more by using the same remote that controls the TV.
CRESTRON-APP-SSTV Control App for Samsung Smart TV Setup Requirements The following items are required to install and use the Crestron app: • An Internet-connected Smart TV (2012 to 2014) and included remote NOTE: Smart TV models from 2010 and 2011 are not supported. Models from 2010 contain a “C” in their model number (i.e., UN46C9000) while 2011 models contain a “D” in their model number (i.e., PN46D8000).
CRESTRON-APP-SSTV Control App for Samsung Smart TV Configure the App’s Menu The app uses an XML file that is stored on the control system to configure the app’s menu. The XML file can be edited to customize the appearance and order of the app’s menus. To edit the XML file, perform the following procedure: 1. Download the CRESTRON-APP-SSTV example program from www.crestron.com/exampleprograms. The example program’s .zip file contains the XML file MyProject.xml.

Demo mode can be used without a connection to a control system or the XML file that is placed in the control system’s HTML directory. Demo mode must be disabled when used with a control system. Use the TV remote to highlight and select Demo Mode. The Enable Demo Mode screen is displayed.

When configured, the app automatically launches in the background after the TV initializes (approximately 20 seconds). If the user has selected an HVAC item, pressing the up button on the TV remote’s navigation pad triggers the temp_up_djoin for as long as the button is pressed. Likewise, pressing the down button triggers the temp_down_djoin for as long as the button is pressed.
