Window Measuring Instructions
MEASURING YOUR WINDOWS (For All Exterior Trim Types)
Step 1. From the interior. Measure the Interior Width Jamb to Jamb (D) and Interior Height Sill at Stool to Head Jamb (E) as
shown in Figures 1 & 2 below. Record these measurements on the following window order form. Special shape windows are
also available. Measure width (D) in both upper and lower sash areas and at three places along the height. Record the smallest
width. Measure the height (E) in 3 places along width of unit and record the smallest measurement. Wall thickness (G) can be
measured from the interior by removing the screen and raising the sash and measuring from the side outside stop to the
interior wall surface. See (FIGURE 2, Page 2, Item 17).
These measurements will determine the overall size of your new pocket window. To receive a properly fitting window, be accu-
rate and careful with measuring and recording the information. Take the time to double-check your efforts before placing the
order. A few extra minutes at the measuring stage may be worth it.
Step 2. From the exterior
. Measure the Overall Unit Width with Brickmould (H),
Side Trim Width (A), Head Trim Height (B), Sill Nosing Height (C) and Overall Unit
Height with Brickmould Trim (F) in Figures 1 & 2.
For width, measure the outermost part of the trim at the top, middle and bottom of
the unit Figure 3. Record the smallest of the three dimensions in the appropriate
column on the window order form.
For height, measure at the right side, middle and left side Figure 4. Record the
smallest of the three dimensions in the appropriate column on the window order
form.
