Pocket Replacement Window Installation Instructions
Trim W
indow Exterior to Fit Siding
Trim is used to close the gap between existing siding
and the new window unit (FIGURES 1 & 2).
Several trim pieces are available to help complete
your installation.
Maintenance-free blown poly vinyl chloride (pvc) is
available as 5-1/2" wide flat casing and as brickmould
in widths from 1-15/16" to 2-1/16" (FIGURE 3). A sill
nosing that is 5-1/2" wide is also available.
The pvc trim can be cut, ripped, routed, and fastened
with standard woodworking tools and fasteners. It
comes in three standard colors white, tan, and carmel
green. It can also be painted to match our selection of
available aluminum colors.
For nailing, a pneumatic nail gun is recommended.
Miter joint corners should be measured, cut, fit,
caulked and locked together with “pocket screws” from
the back side of the assembly before installing with
nails.
There is also a color-matched aluminum extender
(FIGURE 4) that can be used for trim.
