About PlaysForSure and Windows Media Player 10 Update
If you are using Windows XP, you can enable PlaysForSure and Windows
Media Player 10 (WMP10) Update, for Zen Micro.
When PlaysForSure and WMP10 Update is enabled, you no longer need drivers when
connecting Zen Micro to a computer with Windows XP (Service Pack 1 or 2) and WMP 10
installed. Interaction between Zen Micro, WMP10 and Windows XP is seamless.
PlaysForSure and WMP10 Update enables support for subscription-based online music
services.
After this firmware installation, Zen Micro can only be recognized by Windows XP. Be sure
to back up all the audio and data files on your Zen Micro before installing this firmware
update as all content will be lost when you install the new firmware. After installing the
PlaysForSure and WMP10 Update, use WMP 10 to restore audio and/or data files to your
player.
You can still use Creative MediaSource and Zen Media Explorer for managing content on
your player and computer. However, some content purchased from online music services
may require Windows Media Player 10 for full WMP10 feature support.
Check for future versions of Creative MediaSource and Zen Media Explorer that will
support all WMP10 features.
