Product Overview The AXX 200 is equipped with a variety of input and output jacks to enable connection to various devices. A touchscreen interface located at the top of the Sound BlasterAxx gives you basic control over the system's functions. This chapter looks at these features in detail. The Sound BlasterAxx Tower Indicator Description 1 Bluetooth Indicator The blue LED indicates that the Sound BlasterAxx is connected with a Bluetooth / NFC enabled device.
TouchScreen Controls Button / Slider Description 1 Voice Focus Toggles the Voice Focus function ON/OFF. Voice Focus is ON when the LED is lighted and dimmed otherwise. 2 Noise Reduction Toggles the Noise Reduction function ON/OFF. Noise Reduction is ON when the LED is lighted and dimmed otherwise. 3 Master Volume 8 segment slider indicates the speaker volume. Slide upwards to increase the volume or slide downwards to decrease the volume. 4 SBX Toggles SBX Pro Studio audio enhancements ON/OFF.
Audio Playback / Voice Recording 1 Button / Switch Description Power / Bluetooth Button When the AXX 200 is turned OFF, press the Power button once to power it ON; When the AXX 200 is turned ON, l Press the button once to enter Standby mode. In Standby, the AXX 200 will shut down automatically if there is no activity within 1 hour. l Press again to wake from Standby. l Press and hold the button for 2 seconds to enter Bluetooth pairing mode. l Press and hold the button for 5 seconds to power it off.
4 Button / Switch Description Next Track / Next Folder Button During audio playback, l Press once to go to the next track; l Press and hold to go to the next folder. When playback is stopped, you may press the button once to go to the next folder. 5 Voice Recording Button Press to start / stop voice recording. Setting Up Your Sound BlasterAxx The AXX 200 is a refined portable Sound BlasterAxx with built-in rechargeable battery, audio playback, Bluetooth connectivity and NFC feature. Simply operate it in standalone mode, powered by the built-in battery. Alternatively, you can either connect the AXX 200 to a computer via the USB, or connect it to the power supply. Standalone Mode (Battery Powered) The Sound BlasterAxx is now portable with its built-in battery.
Charging the Sound BlasterAxx Connect your AXX 200 to a power supply via an adapter or the Docking Base (available separately), or to your computer by using the MicroUSB-to-USB cable. Charge your Sound BlasterAxx for approximately 6 hours. It is recommended that you charge it for at least 8 hours before it is used for the first time. Note: l l l l Lithium-ion battery life may suffer when it is constantly fully depleted or overexerted at low voltage.

Bluetooth-Enabled Devices To enjoy your favorite music from your Bluetooth devices, simply follow these steps to connect them. Press and hold Power / Bluetooth button for 2 seconds. AXX 200 Bluetooth LED blinks rapidly. Pairing mode. Ready to be paired with new device. Turn ON the Bluetooth feature on your device.
NFC-Enabled Devices You may now pair your NFC-enabled devices with the AXX 200 with a single tap using the NFC technology. Simply follow these steps to connect them. Action LED Status Status Press the Power / Bluetooth button once to turn on the AXX 200. AXX 200 top panel and battery indicator are lit. AXX 200 is powered ON. Turn ON the NFC feature on your device. And touch your device on the NFC logo on AXX 200. If prompted "Are you sure you want to pair the Bluetooth device?", tap "Yes".
Aim the phone's sensor at the NFC logo on the AXX 200 before tapping the devices. To disconnect, tap your device with the AXX 200 again.

l l l CrystalVoice Smart Volume - Automatically adjusts the loudness of a voice to maintain a consistent volume level. CrystalVoice Focus - Creates a specific space where audio is picked up by the microphones so the listener hears only the conversation and no external parties. CrystalVoice FX - Enables alteration of voice with a variety of effects, to enable you to sound like a completely different person. MP3/WMA Player, Voice Recording and Karaoke The built-in battery, microSD slot, audio playback (supports MP3, WMA or WAV files) and voice recording features on the AXX 200 offer a highly portable audio / music player with great audio quality to travelers. Audio playback from the microSD card Here's how to play back music from your microSD card using the built-in MP3/WMA Player. 1. Insert a microSD card into the microSD slot.
Organizing audio files on microSD card using a computer (for Windows OS) The MP3/WMA Player plays files according to the order in which they were being copied. In order for you to retain the order of the audio files that are being transferred from your computer to your microSD card, we recommend that you follow these steps below. 1. Organize the audio files alphabetically in a folder in the order that you would like them to appear on the microSD card. Close the folder. 2.
Voice recording onto the microSD card The AXX 200 comes with four high-quality microphones that deliver an all round 360° voice pick-up, making it ideal for accurate voice recording. Follow these steps to record your voice onto the microSD card. 1. Insert a microSD card. Note: - It is a good practice to use a new microSD card for recording. - The default recording sampling rate is at 16kHz. This is designed to record longer voice recording sessions (e.g. meetings, conference calls, etc.
Setting up Sound BlasterAxx for audio recording via software The Sound BlasterAxx is also equipped with a "What U Hear" feature, allowing you to turn your computer into a Karaoke station. Simply speak / sing into the AXX 200 to mix your voice input with music tracks, hearing the playback while recording. You can also record voice conversations held over instant messaging tools such as Google Talk, Skype etc.
The Karaoke on-the-go feature With the AXX 200, you can sing along to your favourite songs anytime, anywhere. To enjoy karaoke, simply follow these steps: 1. Choose your music source. - Stream music from your mobile device to the AXX 200 via NFC or Bluetooth, OR - Insert your microSD card into the AXX 200's microSD slot and press Play/Pause. 2. Connecting Headphones / Headsets Headphones and headsets can be connected to the Sound BlasterAxx via the Headphone jack. Please note that the Sound BlasterAxx's speaker will be automatically muted when a headphone is connected.
Installing the Mobile App or Software Sound Blaster Central app (mobile devices) Sound BlasterAxx comes with an amazing app, Sound Blaster Central, that supports both iOS and Android OS, so you can customize your audio – you now have total control right from the palm of your hand. Download Sound Blaster Central from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Sound BlasterAxx Control Panel (PC and Mac) A specialized software for the Sound BlasterAxx is developed to provide additional enhancements to the audio and voice inputs and outputs of the product. The software bundle supports a range of operating systems including: l Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP l Mac To take full advantage of your Sound BlasterAxx, we recommend downloading and installing this software into your computer.

Adjusting Speaker Volume Via Software A master volume slider is available at the bottom left corner of the interface. Drag the slider to adjust the master volume. You can also mute / unmute the speaker by clicking the speaker icon to the left of the slider. Configuring Your General Settings You can change the language settings or restore settings to their default values. Click right corner of the interface and select the option from the list.
Enhancing the Audio - SBX Pro Studio To configure SBX Pro Studio, go to the SBX Profile screen, select a profile and click Edit to enter the SBX Pro Studio screen. By default, the SBX effect is turned on. You may adjust the effects on this screen. 1. Click the power button to toggle ON SBX Pro Studio. 2. Select the type(s) of enhancements to apply and drag the sliders to adjust the level for each enhancement. 3. Click to test the audio output, if necessary. 4.
l SBX Dialog Plus - enhances the voices in movies for clearer dialog, allowing the listener to hear the dialog over the rest of the soundtrack and over ambient noise in the listening environment.
Equalizer Settings To configure Equalizer settings, select a profile from the SBX Profile screen. Click Edit and then click Equalizer. To adjust and apply an equalizer preset, 1. Check the EQ checkbox to enable the use of the equalizer. 2. From the drop down menu, select the preset to use. 3. Adjust the vertical slider bars to achieve your desired level. 4. Click Save to save the changes to the active preset or to a new preset.
Enhancing the Microphone - CrystalVoice The AXX 200 is equipped with high-quality microphones, allowing you to easily carry out video/audio conferencing using popular VoIP applications such as Ventrilo® etc. CrystalVoice enhancements help to further this experience by enhancing the clarity of such communications. To configure CrystalVoice settings, click the CrystalVoice menu option on the left. Select a CrystalVoice profile and click Edit. 1.
CrystalVoice enhancements helps you hear and be heard clearly by all participants of the conference, doing away with noisy background distortions and unclear communication that disrupts your online gaming and chatting experience. The various enhancements available include: CrystalVoice Acoustic Echo Cancellation - eliminates echoes and enables the speaker to listen to the other parties clearly.
Speakers / Headphones Settings Each AXX 200 is equipped with a headphone jack, allowing you to connect your favorite headphones to the Sound BlasterAxx for audio output. Connecting headphones to the Sound BlasterAxx automatically mutes the speaker. From the software, you can check whether audio is played via speakers or headphones. 1. View the current settings for the speakers / headphones. 2. Click Test to hear a sample audio clip played back based on the settings.
Mixer Settings A mixer is also available via the software, allowing you to adjust the volume levels of individual outputs and channels including the microphone, speakers, etc. Simply click the Mixer option on the menu and adjust the volumes using the sliders.
Advanced Features The software also provides other advanced features including: l Bluetooth Auto Connection l Setting the Siren to Default On / Off Bluetooth Auto Connection The "Bluetooth Auto Connection" feature allows a paired Bluetooth device to be connected to the Sound BlasterAxx automatically. When the feature is enabled, the Sound BlasterAxx detects and reconnects to the previously paired Bluetooth device when it is turned on.
Voice Recording Settings The Sound Blaster AXX 200 Voice Recording Settings is an application that provides you the option to set the sampling rate of your AXX 200 to enhance your music and voice recordings. The default sampling rate at 16kHz is designed to record longer voice recording sessions (e.g. meetings, conference calls, etc.) and to avoid large file sizes. You can switch it to 48kHz, which is ideal for shorter, higher quality Karaoke music recording.

Troubleshooting and Support This chapter provides solutions to issues that may be encountered during the installation or usage of your Sound BlasterAxx. 1. The Sound BlasterAxx AXX 200 does not power on. The AXX 200 is designed to be powered on simply by the built-in battery. Make sure that the built-in battery is charged. It can also be powered on by connecting to a PC/laptop via USB or through a physical power socket using a USB Power Adapter.
Audio transmitted from your Sound BlasterAxx may be slightly delayed; this is due to the characteristics of Bluetooth technology. 5. There is no audio output from the AXX 200. Please check the following: l Headphones are not connected to the AXX 200. Connecting headphones automatically mutes the speaker. l Unplug the USB cable from the computer and plug it in again. l Check the volume level of the AXX 200 for the following: l Speaker Mute LED on the touchscreen is not lighted.
Then, check that the correct microphone is selected as the system sound input device. For Windows systems, i. Navigate to Control Panel > Sound > Recording tab. ii.
