Flash Terminal Compartment Creative DiVi Cam 316 has three jacks/ports for attaching cables: Headphone jack,TV Out and USB. These jacks/ports enable you to attach the appropriate cables from Creative DiVi Cam 316 to your computer, TV/VCR or earphones. 4. USB Port — Use this to connect your camera to your computer via the USB cable.
Back View 1. Multi-select button — This button comprises four buttons, Up, Down, Left and Right. In Camera and Video modes, use the Up or Down buttons to adjust the exposure level. 3. Getting Started Preparing Your Camera 1. 2. Insert four AAA batteries into the battery compartment . Insert the SD memory card according to the icon shown on the camera when the card slot cover is open. To take out the memory card, push the card to pop it out. Note: Your camera’s 16MB internal memory is disabled when you insert an SD memory card. Do not remove the card while your camera is turned on.
4. Using Your Camera Turning on your camera Slide the Power switch down to turn on the camera. The LED lights up in green and the LCD turns on automatically. Note: The LCD turns off automatically if you do not use your camera for over one minute. The camera turns off if you do not use your camera for the time set for the Auto Power Off setting.

Recording video Your camera can record video in MPEG4 format. In Video mode, press the menu button. The Video Menu appears. To select video size 1. Scroll-select Size. 2. Scroll-select the default resolution for video capture: 640X480 or 320X240. To select white balance 1. Scroll-select White balance. 2. Scroll-select a white balance setting: Auto, Sunny, Tungsten, Fluorescent or Cloudy. To select video quality 1. Scroll-select Quality. 2.
To start recording 1. Press the Shutter/Record button to start recording video. While recording, move the scroller up or down to zoom in or out. In video playback mode, scroll-select Protect. 2. Scroll-select Protect One. 3. Scroll-select the video to protect. This icon appears. Press the scroller again to unprotect the video.

Enabling the auto-flash The flash is available only in Camera mode.
Special effects In Camera mode, press the scroller to see the special effects menu. Scroll-select an effect that you want: Normal, Sepia, B&W, Negative, Red, Pink, Purple, Blue, Green or Yellow. Taking close-up pictures 1. 2. Move the Macro switch upwards to select Macro mode. The Macro icon appears on the LCD. Take pictures as described in “Taking a photo”. Viewing photos 1. 2. 3. In Camera mode, press the Playback button. Use the scroller to go to the previous or next photo.
Trimming a photo 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. In Camera mode, press the Playback button. Use the scroller to go to the previous or next photo. Move the scroller up to zoom into the photo. Use the Up, Down, Left or Right buttons to frame your new photo. Press the shutter button. A list of image resolutions appears. Scroll-select a resolution. This has to be smaller than that of the original photo. Your newly trimmed photo overwrites the original photo. Viewing photo thumbnails 1.

Printing photos directly to a PictBridge compatible printer 1. In camera playback mode, press the Menu button. 2. Scroll-select Print. You are prompted to connect your photo printer. 3. When you have properly connected your printer, you can choose to print individual photos (Print one), or all photos (Print all). Adjusting volume, bass or treble levels When playing MP3s, press the scroller to switch between volume, bass or treble, and press the Up or Down button to adjust the level.

Navigating in a track When playing MP3s, press the Up or Down buttons to skip to the previous or next track. Press the Left or Right buttons to skip backward or forward in a track. Play modes When playing MP3s, press the Playback button to cycle through available play modes: • repeat one — repeat playback of current track • repeat all — repeat playback of all tracks • random — play all tracks in random order • normal — play all tracks in sequence.
Managing MP3s In MP3 mode, while you are not playing any MP3s, press the Menu button to see the menu options.

5. Connecting your camera Configure your camera as a webcam or a mass storage device 1. 2. Insert four AAA batteries into the battery compartment. Connect the smaller end of the USB cable into the USB port of your camera. 3. Connect the other end of the USB cable to your computer’s USB port. 4. The camera’s LCD Panel turns on and the PC Connection Menu is displayed. 5. Press the Up or Down buttons to select the Mass Storage Drive option or the PC Camera option.
Connecting Your Camera to a TV/VCR You can connect your Creative DiVi Cam 316 to a television if you want to have a larger view of your photos. 1. 2. Frequently Asked Questions I was using the camera, but the camera controls suddenly don’t work. • Try turning off your camera, then turning it back on. • You might have removed the memory card while your camera was still turned on. Remove the batteries, wait three seconds, and then put them back. • Check that the batteries are inserted properly. • Check for camera damage. If it is damaged, send it for repair. I have problems using my photo printer with the camera.
