Chapter 2 Working Theories of the Main Unit
2.1 Architecture
The architecture of this monitor is shown as Fig.2.1.
Fig. 2.1 Architecture
2.2 Structure
1. The monitor consists of the main units and the corresponding functional components (CSM accessories,
ECG leads, non-invasive blood pressure cuff, SpO
2
probe and temperature transducer).
2. The patient monitor has 5 measurement channels: the CSI channel, the ECG and respiration channel, the
NIBP channel, the SpO
2
and pulse channel, the temperature channel.
3. The patient monitor has two output channels: the networking communication port and the printer.
4. Basic parameters include: CSI, EEG, EMG, BS%, heart rate, respiration rate, NIBP, SpO2, NIBP, pulse
and temperature.
2.3 Working Theories
UP-8000 Multi-parameter Patient Monitor, which performs physiological parameter measurement through
different modules, is a product of module design. It consists of CSM module, ECG/ respiration/temperature
module, NIBP module, SpO
2
module and the main unit etc.
1. Adopt wireless communication to transmit data between CSM module and CSM Monitor.
2. CSM module monitors ECG, CSI, EMG, BS% etc. waveforms and data through cerebral status
accessorial unit.
3. The ECG module collects the heart rate, respiration waveforms through the ECG leads and collects the
temperature data through the temperature probes as well.
