Water which comes in contact with electrically charged components can transmit electricity to the frame and other surfaces, resulting in electrical shock to anyone contacting them.

Gasoline and gasoline vapors can become ignited by coming in contact with hot components such as the muffler, engine exhaust gases, or from an electrical spark. Turn engine off and allow it to cool before adding fuel to the tank. Equip area of operation with a fire extinguisher certified to handle gasoline or fuel fires.

NOTE: Left and right describes the location of a part with the operator facing the outlet panel. TOOLS NEEDED FOR ASSEMBLY 1 - Box Cutter or Knife REMOVE GENERATOR FROM CARTON • Open carton from top. • Cut carton along dotted lines. • Remove all carton inserts.
OPERATION KNOW YOUR GENERATOR Read this Owner’s Manual and Safety Rules before operation of your Generator. Compare this illustration with your generator to familiarize yourself with the location of various controls and adjustments. Save the manual for future references. GENERATOR CAPACITY Exceeding the rated capacity of your generator can result in serious damage to your generator and connected electrical devices. You should observe the following to prevent overloading the unit: • Starting and running wattage requirements should always be calculated when matching a generators wattage capacity to the appliance or tool. • There are two types of electrical appliances that can be powered by your generator: A.
BEFORE STARTING ENGINE Always check engine oil level before every start. Running engine low of oil or out of oil could result in serious damage to the engine. Use clean, fresh, regular unleaded gasoline with a minimum of 85 octane. Do not mix oil with gasoline. Never fill fuel tank completely. Fill tank to 1/2" below the bottom of the filler neck to provide space for fuel expansion. Wipe any fuel spillage from engine and equipment before starting engine.
• Move ON/OFF switch located on the front panel of the engine to the "ON" position. • Close fuel shut-off valve. You MUST unplug any load IMPORTANT: Never store engine with fuel in tank, indoors, or in enclosed, poorly ventilated areas or where fuel fumes may reach an open flame. from the generator before starting to prevent permanent damage to any appliances.

Change the oil as follows: • • To keep dirt, grass clippings, etc. out of the engine, clean the area around the drain plug and dipstickbefore removing it. • To service pre-cleaner, wash in liquid detergent and water. Squeeze dry in a clean cloth and allow to dry thoroughly. DO NOT oil pre-cleaner. • To service cartridge, clean by tapping gently on a flat service. Do not oil cartridge. Replace if dirty or damaged.
Clean Cooling System Clean and Replace Spark Plug Debris may clog engine's air cooling system, especially after prolonged operation. Internal cooling fins and surfaces may require cleaning to prevent overheating and engine damage. Remove blower housing and clean. Check spark plug yearly or every 100 operating hours or every season. Clean • Clean area around spark plug. • Remove and inspect spark plug. • Replace spark plug if electrodes are pitted, burned or porcelain is cracked.
STORAGE If you are going to store your generator for more than 30 days, use the following information as a guide to prepare the generator for storage. • Disconnect the spark plug wire and remove the spark plug. • Add one teaspoon of oil through the spark plug hole. Never store generator with fuel in the tank indoors or in enclosed, poorly ventilated areas, where fumes can reach an open flame, spark or pilot light as on a furnace, water heater, clothes dryer or other gas appliances.

ASSEMBLAGE CONTENU DE L’EMBALLAGE 1 - Guide de l'utilisateur 1 - Generator AVERTISSEMENT Lisez le Guide de l’utilisateur. Ne tentez pas de faire fonctionner cet appareil avant d’avoir lu les directives sur les mesures de sécurité, de assemblage, le fonctionnement, l’entretien et l’entreposage contenues dans le Guide de l’utilisateur. REMARQUE : La mention ‘gauche’ ou ‘droite’ signifie l’emplacement d’une pièce lorsque l’utilisateur est situé face au panneau des prises électriques.
FONCTIONNEMENT BIEN CONNAÎTRE VOTRE GÉNÉRATRICE Lire ce Guide de l’utilisateur et les mesures de sécurité avant de faire fonctionner votre génératrice. Comparer ce schéma avec votre génératrice afin de vous familiariser avec l’emplacement des commandes et des réglages. Conserver ce guide à titre de référence future.
CAPACITÉ DE LA GÉNÉRATRICE Si la capacité nominale de la génératrice est dépassée, cela risque de causer des dommages importants à la génératrice et aux dispositifs électriques branchés. Suivre les directives suivantes afin d’empêcher toute surcharge de l’appareil : • Il faut toujours calculer les puissances d’amorçage et de service en watts pour déterminer la capacité en watts de la génératrice nécessaire pour l’appareil ou l’outil à brancher.
AVANT DE DÉMARRER LE MOTEUR MISE EN GARDE : Ne jamais remplir le réservoir à carburant jusqu’au bout. Remplir le réservoir jusqu’à 1/2 po sous la base du col de remplissage afin de permettre l’expansion du carburant. Essuyer tout carburant versé sur le moteur ou sur l’équipement avant de démarrer le moteur. MISE EN GARDE : Vérifier le niveau d’huile moteur avant chaque démarrage.
• Placer l’interrupteur marche/arrêt ‘ON/OFF’, situé sur le panneau avant du moteur, à la position de marche ‘ON’. • Fermer les soupape de coupure de carburant. Interrupteur ‘ON/OFF’ Soupape de coupure de carburant REMARQUE : Fermer les soupape de coupure de carburant lors du transport du moteur, afin d’empêcher toute fuite. MISE EN GARDE Il FAUT absolument débrancher toute charge de la génératrice avant de la mettre en marche afin d’éviter d’endommager de façon permanente les appareils branchés.

• Effectuer le changement d’huile de la façon suivante : • • Pour empêcher l’entrée de saletés, de l’herbe coupée etc. dans le moteur, nettoyer la surface autour du bouchon de vidange et de la jauge d’huile avant de les enlever. Retirer le bouchon de vidange et la jauge d’huile. Incliner légèrement le moteur vers l’orifice de vidange pour faciliter le vidange d’huile. Prendre suffisamment de temps pour assurer une vidange complète.
Nettoyage du système de refroidissement Une accumulation de débris peut obstruer le système de refroidissement à air du moteur, surtout après une utilisation prolongée. Les ailettes de refroidissement et les surfaces internes doivent être nettoyées afin d’empêcher toute surchauffe et tout dommage au moteur. Retirer le logement de la soufflerie et nettoyer les pièces. Nettoyer NETTOYAGE ET REMPLACEMENT DE LA BOUGIE D’ALLUMAGE Vérifier la bougie d’allumage tous les ans ou toutes les 100 heures de service.
ENTREPOSAGE Si la génératrice ne va pas être utilisée pendant 30 jours ou plus, utiliser les renseignements suivants comme guide pour la préparer pour l’entreposage. • Couper ensuite le moteur. • Débrancher le fil de la bougie d’allumage et retirer la bougie. DIRECTIVES POUR L’ENTREPOSAGE • Ajouter une cuillère à thé d’huile dans l’orifice pour bougie d’allumage.
