Lubrication
An inqine filter-regulatorqubricator (fig 1)
is recommended as it increases tool life
and keeps the tool in sustained operation.
The inqine lubricator should be regularly
checked and filled with air tool oil. Proper
adjusl;nent of the inqine lubricator is
performed by placing a sheetofpaper
nextto the tools exhaust ports and holding
the throttle open approximately 32)
seconds. The lubricator is properly set
when a lightstain ofoil collects on the
paper.
Excessive amounts ofoil should be
avoided. In the eventthat it becomes
necessary to store the tool foran
extended period of time (overnighL
weekend, etc.), itshould receive a
generous amount of lubricalJon through
the air inlet(Figure 3). The tool should be
run for approximately 3:Dseconds to
ensure oil has been evenly distributed
throughoutthe tool. The tool should be
stored in a clean and dry environmenL
Recommended L ubricants
Use air tool oil or any other high grade
turbine oil containing moisture absorbenL
rustinhibitors, metal wetting agents and
an EP (extreme pressure) additive. See
Figure 3 for Iocation/_tir inleL
IMPACT MECHANISMLUBRICATION
The impact mechanism transfers power
from the tool to a nutor boll Oil in the
mechanism is forced outand mustbe
replaced. Lubricate the impact
mechanism one time a year; more
often ira tool is used more than ten
hours a week.
To lubricate and clean the impact
mechanism and the front bearing:
1. Disconnectlhe impactwrench from
the air supply.
2 Remove the slot_d screwor Allen
head screw from lhe oil porLhole

Squeeze approximately 1 oz. of
30weightoil lhrough lhe
oil porthole. Replace lhe screw.
Reconnectlhe air supply to lhe impact
wrench and run for 20to 30seconds.
Lubdca_e lhe enlJre impact mechanism
by rolalJng lhe tool upside down
and sideways while running lhe tool.
Remove lhe screwand hold lhe oil
porLhole over a suilable conlainer to
allow excess oil to drain. SomelJmes
Iziggedng lhe tool when dumping lhe oils
helps to force outlhe excess oil.
Iflhe oil is dirty, repeatlhe procedure above
unlJl the oil comes outclear. Inslall the screw
and lighten. The residual oil remaining in lhe
impact mechanism chamber is all lhatis
needed for proper lubricalJon.
