NOTE:Referencesto rightor leftsideof the snowthrowerare

determinedfrombehindthe unit inthe operatingposition(standing

directlybehindthesnowthrower,facingthe handlepanel).

REMOVING FROM CRATE

1. Removescrewsand staplesfromthe top,sides,andendsof the

shippingcrate.

2. Setpanelsasideto avoidtire puncturesorpersonalinjury.

3. Removeand discardplasticbagthat coversunit.

4. Removeany loosepartsincludedwith unit(i.e.,Operator's

Manual,etc.).

5. Pushdownonhandlesand pullunitbackout of crate.

6. Makecertainthe cratehas beencompletelyemptiedbefore

discardingit.

ASSEMBLY

1. Makecertainthe springsat the lowerendof theaugeranddrive

cablesaresecurelyhookedintotheir respectiveactuator

bracketbeforepivotingthe handleupward.

a. Placetheshift leverin the F6 position.

b. Removethe lowerwing knobandcarriageboltfromeach

sideof theupperhandle.Pullupon upperhandleasshown

in Figure1.Alignupperhandlewiththe lowerhandle.Again,

makecertainthe springsat the lowerendofthe augerand

drivecablesaresecurelyhookedintotheir respective

actuatorbracket.Also,removeanyrubberbandssecuring

the cablesto the wingnuts.

2. a. Securethe upperhandleandlowerhandlewiththetwo wing

knobsandcarriageboltsremovedearlier.

b. Tightenthetwo wingknobsalreadyinstalledinthe upper

holesto firmlysecurethe upperhandleandsupporttubes.

3. Alignthe upperand lowershift rods,thenslidethe shift rod

connectordownoverthe endof thelowershiftrod.Tapthe

connectoruntilthe lowerrod is completelythroughtheconnector.

NOTE:If theconnectoris notproperlyassembled,the shiftrodwill

pivotand youwill notbe ableto changespeedsor direction.

NOTE:If thefull rangeof speeds(forwardandreverse)can notbe

achieved,referto the "MakingAdjustments"section.

4. a. Removethe internalcotterpinfromthe upperchutecrank.

Slidethe upperchutecrankinto thesleeveon the lower

chutecrank. SeeFigure3.

b. Alignthe holein the upperchutecrankwiththe holein the

sleeve(If necessary,usea pairof pliers toassistin aligning

holes).Insertthe internalcotterpinthroughtheholesto

securethe chutecrank.SeeFigure3.

5. Removelocknutsandscrewssecuringoneof the flangekeepers

to the chuteassembly.

6. Placechuteassemblyontochutebaseas shownin Figure4,

makingsurethat the notchesengagewiththespiralend ofchute

directionalcontrol.
