. Disengagepowerto the auger/impellerwhentransportingor notin use.
,, Neveroperatemachineat hightransportspeedson slipperysurfaces.
Lookdownand behindand usecarewhenbackingup.
,, If the machineshouldstart to vibrateabnormally,stopthe engine,
disconnectthe sparkplugwire andgroundit againsttheengine.Inspect
thoroughlyfor damage.Repairanydamagebeforestartingand operat-
ing.
. Disengageallcontrolleversandstop enginebeforeyouleavethe
operatingposition(behindthe handles).Waituntil the auger/impeller
comesto a completestopbeforeuncloggingthe chute assembly,making
anyadjustments,orinspections.
,, Neverputyour handin the dischargeor collectoropenings.Always
usetheclean-outtool providedto unclogthe dischargeopening. Do
not unclogchute assemblywhileengineis running.Shut offengine
and remainbehindhandlesuntil all movingpartshavestoppedbefore
unclogging.
,, Useonly attachmentsand accessoriesapprovedbythe manufacturer
(e.g.wheelweights,tirechains,cabsetc.).

MAINTENANCE & STORAGE
. Nevertamperwith safetydevices.Checktheir properoperation
regularly.Referto the maintenanceandadjustmentsectionsofthis
manual.

leversand stopthe engine.Waituntil theauger/impellercometoa
completestop.Disconnectthe sparkplug wireand groundagainstthe
engineto preventunintendedstarting.
. Check boltsandscrewsfor propertightnessat frequentintervalsto keep
the machinein safeworkingcondition.Also,visuallyinspectmachinefor
anydamage.
. Donotchangethe enginegovernorsettingor over-speedthe engine.
Thegovernorcontrolsthe maximumsafeoperatingspeedof the engine.
. Snowthrowershaveplatesandskid shoesare subjectto wearand
damage.Foryour safetyprotection,frequentlycheckallcomponents
and replacewith originalequipmentmanufacturer's(OEM) partsonly.
"Useof partswhich donot meetthe originalequipmentspecifications
may leadto improperperformanceandcompromisesafety!"
. Checkcontrolsperiodicallyto verifytheyengageand disengage
properlyandadjust,if necessary.Referto theadjustmentsectionin this
operator'smanualfor instructions.
. Maintainor replacesafetyand instructionlabels,as necessary.
. Observeproperdisposallawsand regulationsfor gas, oil,etc.to protect
the environment.
. Priorto storing,run machinea few minutesto clearsnowfrom machine
and preventfreezeup of auger/impeller.
. Neverstorethe machineorfuelcontainerinsidewherethere is anopen
flame,sparkor pilot lightsuch asa water heater,furnace,clothes dryer
etc.
,, Alwaysreferto the operator'smanualfor properinstructionson
off-seasonstorage.
Do not modify engine
Toavoidseriousinjuryor death,do notmodifyenginein anyway.Tampering
withthe governorsettingcanleadto a runawayengineandcauseitto operate
at unsafespeeds.Nevertamperwithfactorysettingof enginegovernor.
Notice Regarding Emissions
Engineswhichare certifiedto complywith CaliforniaandfederalEPAemission
regulationsfor SORE(SmallOff RoadEquipment)are certifiedto operateon
regularunleadedgasoline,and mayincludethefollowingemissioncontrolsys-
tems:EngineModification(EM)andThreeWayCatalyst(TWO)if so equipped.
