9. Repositionthe frictionwheelassemblyinthe snowthrowerframe.
Insertthe pinfromthe shiftarm assemblyintothe frictionwheel
assemblyandholdassemblyinposition.Referto Figure33.
10. Slidethe hexshaftthroughthe rightsideofthe frametowardthe
leftside andthroughthe frictionwheelassembly.
11. Aftermakingcertainthatthe chainis on boththelargeandthe
smallsprocket,alignthe hexshaft withthe hexhubof thesmall
sprocket,andslidethe shaftthroughthesprocket.
NOTE:If thesprocketfellfromthe snowthrowerwhile removingthe
hexshaft,placethe sprocketon thechain.Realignthesprocketon the
chainwiththe hex hubfacingthe rightsideof unit.Positionthehex
hubof the sprockettowardthe frictionwheelwhenslidingthesprocket
onto the hexshaft.
12. Slidethe spaceronto theend of thehexshaft.
13. Alignthe bearingon the rightendof thehexshaftwiththe hole
in the rightside of theframe,then pushthe hexshaftto theleft
intopositioninthe frame.
14. Slidethe bearingontothe left endof the hexshaftand pressinto
the holeonthe leftside the frame.
15. Placethe bellevillewasher(roundedsidetowardhead)ontothe
hexscrew removedearlier,and insertthe screwintothe threaded
holeof the hexshaft.
16. Graduallytightenthe hex screwto fullyseatthe bearingsineach
sideof theframeandto securethe hexshaft.

withthe self-tappingscrews.Pivotthe snowthrowerdownto it
normaloperatingposition.
NOTE:Ifyou placedplasticfilmunderthe gascap,becertainto
removeit.
