Mounting and Wiring the Safety Sensors
• Slide a 1/4"-20xl/2" carriage bolt head intothe slot
on both sensors. Use wing nuts to fasten sensorsto
brackets, with lenses pointingtoward each other
across the door. Be sure the lens is not obstructedby
a bracket extension. See Figure 5.
• Finger tightenthe sensor wing nuts.
• Run the wires from bothsensors to the opener. Use
insulatedstaples to secure wire to wall and ceiling.
• Strip 1/4" of insulationfrom each set ofwires.
Separate white and white/black wires sufficientlyto
connectto the opener terminal screws: white to 2
and white/blackto 3.
Aligning the Safety Sensors
• Plug inthe opener. The indicator lightsin boththe
sending and receivingeyes will glow steadilyif wiring
connectionsand alignment are correct.
The sendingeye orange indicator lightwillglow
regardlessof alignment or obstruction. If the green
indicatorlight inthe receiving eye is off, dim, or
flickering(and the invisiblelight beam path is not
obstructed), alignmentis required.
• Loosenthe sending eye wing nut and readjust,
aiming directlyat the receiving eye. Lock inplace.
• Loosen the receiving eye wing nut and adjustsensor
vertically and/or horizontallyuntil it receives the
sender's beam. When the green indicatorlightglows
steadily, tightenthe wing nut.

Trouble Shooting the Safety Sensors
1. [fthe sendingeye indicatorlightdoes not glow
steadilyafter installation,check for:
• Electdc power to the opener.
• A short inthe white or white/black wires. These can
occurat staples, or at screw terminal connections.
• Incorrectwiringbetween sensorsand opener.
• A brokenwire.
2. If the sending eye indicatorlight glows steadilybut the
receivingeye indicatorlightdoesn't:
• Check alignment.
• Check for a brokenwire to the receiving eye,
3. If the receivingeye indicatorlightis dim, realign either
sensor.
NOTE: When the invisiblebeam path is obstructedor
misaligned whilethe dooris closing, the door will
reverse, ff the door isalready open, it willnot close. The
opener lights willflash 10 times. (if bulbs are not
installed, 10 clickscan be heard.) See page 21.
